Youtube no longer opens.

For months I have been able to use youtube on my xbox one and it was a very smooth experience, I never had any problems. However 4 days ago I went to watch a video and the youtube app froze entirely, I had to go to the dashboard and quit. Since then I have
been unable to open the youtube app. When I attempt to the red screen appears with the Youtube logo, and after 30 seconds to a minute it just crashes to dashboard. I have uninstalled/re installed 3 times, performed 3 hard resets and I unplugged my xbox one
from the power box and the power box from the wall, waited about 15 minutes and plugged it back in, all to no avail. I have tried to access it when I am signed on my account, not signed in at all and signed in on a friends account (my friend can access youtube
from his account/xbox one, not on mine). I want to test accessing youtube on his system from my account, but I wont be able to do that for a few weeks and am hoping to find a solution in the mean time.

Still no youtube

I can't open youtube. .I can't uninstall youtube it keeps saying ready to install. I've used this app before..now I can't open or uninstall. .Wth is going on here? I can uninstall games and other apps but not youtube. I do not wish to restore factory settings
then I lose all i worked for..long sigh!

 

been having issues too, have to turn the console off and on again every time i want it too work, ever since big update nothing but issues, randomly disconnecting controller once or twice a day too... plz fix these problems with a patch microsoft... and why
does every time i want do sumthing it now requires sync data? help plz

While Youtube was never the most feature rich, fastest or user friendly, it was fairly stable. Since it was updated it has rotunly crashed, failed to open or just displayed hour glass in place of video. Its almost to the point it is easier to suffer through
Youtube site in Edge browser but that browser crashes about once every two minutes. Please fix asap.

 

the big update has caused nothing but trouble, it was fine for me b4 them, if its not broken dont fix i, better yet, dont break it!

How to fix?

 

there is no fix untill microsoft can flush out the bug with an update patch. wont happen untill enough of us complain. currently they may be unaware of it.

 

Same issue here. Possible problem with YouTube rolling out the Red membership? I'm a YouTube Red member by default of being a Google Play Music subscriber. But the app no longer opens for me on the Xbox. Even if I restart the entire console, it's still
just 20 seconds of the red YouTube sceen, then it kicks back out to the dashboard.

Tried opening a video on my phone and casting it to the Xbox. Doesn't work either.

 

same exact issues here, however i will say i can't even uninstall it, when i click the uininstall, literally nothing happens.

also, tried to update the game SMITE last night, its still sitting at QUEUED 0% this morning, thought id try pauseing the update then unpauseing to kickstart the download, there IS NO pause option anymore, all i have in its place is INSTALL or UNINSTALL,
why would i INSTALL a game thats already INSTALLED?

 

I got YouTube app to uninstall / reinstall, but now it doesn't even open up to the red screen and then time out, like it was doing before. I select the app, hear the Xbox chime and then... nothing. Can't force close the app. No point in uninstalling again,
because that accomplishes nothing.

So frustrating. GET THIS FIXED!

 

Are you having problems with YouTube? On this account on Xbox One (the one I am posting it with) nothing works except MSEdge and offline multiplayer.

Here are some suggestions:

Restart your console

Check your network connection

Message me back with the error code you are receiving.

Here's how to do those suggestions:

1. Double tap the Xbox Guide button and scroll all the way to the bottom and click Restart Console then click Yes.

2. Double tap the Xbox Guide button and scroll to All Settings and scroll down to Network, then click Network Settings. Also whilst your there check your NAT type, if its on Open that means it should be working, Moderate is when the services aren't working
properly.

3. Look at the error your receiving, there is an error code there. Message me with that error code then I can find what more steps to give you to fix your YouTube app.
