YouTube/IE/etc still behind the XBL paywall on 360?

Hi,

I thought Phil Harrison had nipped the ridiculous paywalling of non-XBL services in the bud, or was this for Xbox One only? I was thinking of getting XBL again now I've got around to buying a new 360, but if they're still pulling this nonsense, I'll stay
with single player only on X360 and go PC for multiplayer.

Is XBL Silver apps still behind a paywall?

I went Silver this past week and even though I can sign into XBL, not a single one of my apps works. Not even Netflix. So being curious I tried it on a friends Xbox 360 who's been Silver since at least last year, but who hasn't used it since the "paywall"
was dropped.

I've no intention of going Gold again anytime soon, and if the apps. (IE, Youtube, Netflix, Crackle etc) are still behind a paywall then I would like to know.

Sony aren't locking the apps, YouTube for example, behind the PSN+ subscription.

Anyway, I'm glad to hear they're ending that nonsense. It's great that Microsoft are finally listening to their consumers. I'll even pick up an XBL in the next couple of months when I have time.
