Youtube App Won't Start

My YouTube app won't start. I select it, the screen pops ups with the YouTube logo on it, and about a second later, it returns to the dashboard. I've had games do that but the second time I click on the game, it loads. This just continuously returns to
the dashboard.

I've tried uninstalling and re installing. I've held the power button down for a few seconds to shut it down and then pulled the power cord. Nothing seems to work. I noticed that the app is shown off to the side of the page with all of the other apps
and is ready to install. I can't seem to completely remove it.

This app used to work perfectly up until a couple of weeks ago.

Download the YouTube app to stream online videos on Xbox 360

Sign in with your Xbox Live gamertag.

Go to apps, and then select Browse Apps or Search Apps.

Browse or search for YouTube.

Select YouTube, and then select Confirm Purchase to download and install the app. After the download, the app automatically starts, and you can browse the available content.

To start YouTube later, select My Apps, and then YouTube. You can also start YouTube by selecting Video, and then My Video Apps.

If you have a YouTube account, you can sign in to your YouTube account and access your YouTube subscriptions and playlists.

Ok my YouTube app won't lunch keeps crashing and won't do anything how do I fix this issue

 

This EXACT same thing is happening to my netflix app... The xbox one is proving to be quite the dust collector atm with all of these ridiculous issues.

Sorry to hear about the app issues. Let's see what we can do to help get this issue sorted.

Please give the following steps a try:

• Check to see if there is a service alert for the app you are trying to use on our Xbox Live Status page.
  
• Press and hold the power button on your Xbox One console for 5 seconds.
• Once your console is powered off, unplug the power cord.
• Wait 5 minutes and plug in your console.
• Power on your console and try loading the YouTube or Netflix app.
• If you are still unable to load the app, try to Uninstall and reinstall the app.
  

Give the suggested steps a try and let us know how it goes.

 

I tried all of the steps and it still will not start. I had done most of them earlier except leaving it unplugged for 5 minutes. Whenever I start the app, the screen with the YouTube logo appears for a second and then it returns to the dashboard.

This is the only app that I'm having a problem. Luckily it's just YouTube and not something like Netflix.

When I uninstall the app, is it completely off of the hard drive? I noticed that it is shown off to the side of the other apps and says "ready to install". It's a small app so I can't tell if it re-downloads the app or if it is simply installing something
that is still on the hard drive. If the app is corrupted, then it could just be re-installing the corrupted file.

 

Mine shows the youtube logo then goes to a black screen an just shows a loading symbol in the lower right corner. An that's all it will do.

Sorry to hear that the issue is continuing to occur. Uninstalling an app will definitely free the app from your hard drive. The YouTube app is fairly small app which is why it is so quick to uninstall and reinstall. Are you using a external hard drive? I have
a few more steps for you to try to see if we can get this issue sorted.

Please go ahead and try the following steps:

• Verify that you are signed in with your profile.
  
• Navigate to your notifications at the left of your Home screen.
• Check to see if there are any notifications about low or unavailable hard drive space.
  
• If there is a notification about low hard drive space, try Uninstalling a few apps to free up some space.
