My Xbox One X struggling on Recent Youtube 4K Videos (UPDATED)

Google has started using a different encoding format on YouTube. YouTube videos are ow VP9 encoded and not HEVC. Also, Google has been deliberately throttling videos on some devices, and I won't be surprised Xbox be one of those, based on the fact they
don't release their apps for Windows ecosystem.

I don't think this is a hardware problem but Google needs to update the YouTube app. When you downloaded the video to the USB it would still be VP9 encoded.

I'm not saying that all VP9 videos will not work, but it depends whether they were encoded properly and the amount of throttling being done by Google.
If the youtube videos are not encoded properly then why all 4K videos (inclued HDR videos) on my Smart TV Youtube app work perfectly fine ?

Can you please try a few recent 4k videos in your Xbox One X and tell me if they work fine to you ?

PPL dont even tell me if they work fine on their console or not , what a nightmare im having with this console ...

Xbox One keeps signing me out of Youtube

I have the same issue since the latest Youtube app update (11/22) on my Series X.

Upon every boot, when entering the app, i must re-allow Youtube on Xbox on the google website.

Tried reinitializing the app, deleting it, then reinstalling, to no avail.

I've had no issues running Vp9 codec up to October last year . I also tried the running off the usb stick to see what would happen . I tried 2 videos , both 4k 60fps . The year old one played just fine , the new one , well , crapped out . I tried the media
player and thru Kodi app . My one year warranty was up in Dec , 2018 , so I'm screwed for warranty ...plus I sent them another report yesterday .
