YouTube app does not load

So far there have been no problems with the Xbox One YouTube app, but today I wanted to launch it and it just doesn't start. After the YouTube logo appears, the screen goes to black and I get back to the Dashboard. I tried to launch it several times. Also,
I restarted the console and reinstalled the app but it didn't help. Any ideas?

My youtube App doesn't even work. About 70% of my videos wont load and when a video does finally load my navigation menu doesn't appear when it finishes.

same issue, reinstalling youtube does not work, resetting and re-linking all devices does not work as a fix, youtube page shows the app having access...

 

Anyone? I still can't start the app.

 

I have the exact same problem. I've tried uninstalling the app, restarting, unplugging the xbox, and nothing works. It used to work fine, but 2-3 months ago, it starting doing exactly what you described.

I'm sorry to hear about the YouTube app isn't loading properly on your Xbox One console. I have a question to run past you both to try and narrow down the situation.

1. Have you tried any other apps or video apps? Are you experiencing the same type of loading issue with those other apps?
   

Also, I see you both said you tried a few troubleshooting steps to try and resolve what you're experiencing, but I suggest giving these next steps a shot, as I added a few more in there to try in a specific order.

• Uninstall the YouTube app.
• Power cycle your Xbox One console.
  
• Once the console is off completely, unplug all cords from your console.
  
• Leave everything unplugged for a few minutes.
• Plug your console and cords back in and turn it on.
• Check your Network Connection. (Settings > Network > Test Network Connection)
  
• Reinstall the YouTube app again and try using it again.

Please post back and let me know the answer to the question above and if, by chance, the steps worked for you or not. Thanks!

Yes I've tried all of the above. Also, I've contacted Xbox support via chat and the support representative advised me to do some other troubleshooting steps. However, none of them solved the problem, the YouTube app doesn't start. One day it worked perfectly,
the other it didn't.

Every other app and game works perfectly. Also, my network is good and stable, I've checked it and also connected my console to another network, both wired and wireless. So that can't be the problem.

Thanks for posting back and letting us know your progress. I'm sorry to hear things still aren’t playing nice. I would suggest hitting up
YouTube Help and posting to them about what you're experiencing with the app.

Also, since you've expressed that you've tried all the steps I've posted above and a few other troubleshooting steps from chat support, another step would be to reset your

Xbox One console to factory defaults. If you would like to go this route, please read all of the

support article in full prior to performing any steps to understand how to do it and what happens after you perform the factory reset.

I sincerely hope this helps, and as always, let us know how it goes!

 

Restoring the console to factory defaults helped. The YouTube app now works properly after doing it. But it's not an ideal solution, especially not if there are a lot of digital games on the system that have to be downloaded again. I hope this problem doesn't
appear again. Thank you for the help anyway.
