YouTube App Achievements Unobtainable

Hello Xbox Support and fellow Xbox One users,

I started using the YouTube app recently so that I can watch my favorite channels right from my Xbox One. I've been hesitant with starting apps because of the way achievements are handled, but decided to give the YouTube app a try.

The YouTube service had a recent update on July 26th (or so I believe) and since then, each of the time related achievements will not log any progress towards the completion of the app. According to TrueAchievements and other community websites, July 26th was
the last time that a user had unlocked any of the said achievements.

This issue applies only to the following achievements:

- ROFLMAO (five hours of comedy videos)

- DJ YouTube (ten hours of music)

- Hipster Kitty (three hours of videos below three-hundred views)

- Quantum Entanglement (five hours from a paired device)

- UUDDLRLRBA (five hours of gaming videos)

Now, obviously this isn't a huge issue, which is why I am hoping that the right person might see this or forward it to the appropriate party. Certainly not a ground breaking problem, but something I would certainly be happy to see corrected.

Fixing the WWE Network APP final achievement

The final achievement 'Coming Soon' which is for "Watch a trailer for an upcoming PPV" is unobtainable. The app has been patched a few times since release and this achievement is still unobtainable. Hoping someone can look into fixing it.

Achievements are not unlocking even though I have met the criteria.

These achievements are confirmed unobtainable:

Hey there, Darkened Night! I am sorry to see that the achievements aren't unlocking at this time. We are currently investigating an issue with game achievements not unlocking, and had an issue last week where they weren't tracking the progress as well.

Can you confirm for me that it's still not tracking the progress for you? I believe that the achievements not popping will be resolved with the game achievements, but I want to make sure that it's at least tracking for you now.

Let me know what all is going on and we'll see what our next steps are.

 

Yes, I can confirm that all of the aforementioned achievements are still not unlocking. TrueAchievements still indicates that the last user to unlock one of the mentioned achievements was on July 26th.

While I am aware of the other issue present with the unlocking of Xbox One achievements, I do not think that issue and this one are related. I believe that this issue, in particular, is specific to the YouTube app itself and may require the official developers
of the application to correct something on their end in order to solve the problem.

You know what, I think you might be right. We've seen something like this before, and since it coincided with the update that YouTube got on July 26th, it might be on their end. What I suggest at this point is checking out
Known Issues - YouTube Help page. I checked it out myself and didn't see what we're running into here (but did see known issues for things like the Nintendo 3DS), so you'll want to check out their
Google Groups and see if it's posted there.

I'm sorry I couldn't be more help for you! I hope I provided you enough information to at least get YouTube/Google aware of the achievement issue so they can get their developers on it!

I'm in the same boat as you Darkened Night, I can't make progress or unlock those YouTube achievements either. And I see what you mean about True Achievements, nobody's unlocked them since July.

I did unlock a Halo: Spartan Assault achievement a couple of days ago that I completed a week earlier. Like, it just showed up as unlocked on my profile, not while I was still playing or anything. Maybe it's a problem with how Xbox handles progress meters
for individual achievements? I don't know.

My girlfriend and I had issues with our Lego: The Movie achievements unlocking but the only issues I've ever seen regarding the progress meter are with this app in particular. The fact that the only documented case of unobtainable achievements I can currently
find with the Xbox One is this one leads me to believe that it truly is on the developer end.

I too am experiencing issues with the above mentioned achievements. I already had the non-tracking achievements so I have no idea if they still work or not.

 

The other five achievements that are not tied to the progress meter unlock as they should. It's just these five in particular.

i have spoken to an adviser on xbox.com and they said to post on here that these achievements can be unlocked and by looking on trueachievements.com on the youtube app this has been a problem since july 27. thanks

 

If the adviser that you spoke to mentioned that those five achievements were actually unlockable, then they are unfortunately unaware of the situation. The issue is still prevalent with the five achievements that I initially mentioned when I created the
thread.

My thread on the Google forums is still open, please let the YouTube staff know that you are also experiencing issues, the more people that report the same problem, the more inclined they become to fix it.
