Youtube and Netflix Cast no longer functions

Until the March update, the Netflix and Youtube apps could both be controlled using a smartphone by opening the app on the smartphone, hitting the Google Cast button, and selecting the Xbox. After the March update, my Xbox is no longer showing up as an option
to cast to in either app. How do I restore this functionality, or was this intentionally removed in the update?

I can't connect local cast app with my Xbox one

They are referring to the Local Cast app for Android. I am also having this problem not only woth local cast but any app that has the casting ability. Netflix, youtube, etc... are no longer seeing the xbox one on the cast to device list like it used to.
Was there an update that removed this feature of casting directly to the xbox??

Media Remote no longer works with YouTube and Netflix apps after 11/15 console update

After updating the console on 11/15, the Xbox One Media Remote no longer functions in any way for the YouTube and Netflix apps as it used to. It still works fine in the Hulu app.

Sorry to hear about the issue! I would begin by following the steps from the Watch YouTube on TV with a TV code - YouTube Help support article from Google.
Be sure to follow the steps specifically surrounding the TV portion. Once you have done that, follow the steps to get connected back up.

Thanks for the response! Pairing the apps does work for Youtube, so that's better. Netflix doesn't seem to have a similar pairing method available, so I'm still at a loss for that.

Before, the Xbox showed up on anyone's phone connected to the same wifi network without the need for pairing. Pairing works, but it is a bit of a pain if a guest wants to through a Youtube video on the screen.

I'm using a Nexus 6 with Android 5.1. The others in my house are all using android as well (4.4 and 4.3) and having the same issue.

 

Alright, half way there! For Netflix, try signing in to Netflix and select 'Remove all devices' and then sync them back up.

I have the same problem - after some update it dissapered. For both - Youtube and Netflix. I've paired Youtube again, but casting is still missing.

I can't check netflix solution at the moment.

 

Signing out of all netflix accounts and re-signing in does not fix this. Also, Youtube unpairs with every Xbox update, so you have to do it all again.

At some point the Xbox stopped broadcasting itself on the wifi network it seems. Youtube pairing is a workaround while this gets fixed, but not really a permanent solution (unless this feature was intentionally removed by the Xbox team).

 

I'm having a similar issue. On both iPads I see the Xbox one. When I try to cast, Netflix does come up, but the cast is never established.
