Your TV Signal Was Lost with Receiver setup - Pioneer 1224, Pioneer 1024 and Onkyo NR636

I am having lots of trouble with Your TV Signal Was Lost coming up. I have done the following:

    My current setup:

Samsung tv < receiver < Xbox one < directv

All have been hooked up with HDMI wires. I have also changed out all the hdmi wires to higher quality hdmi wires if that was the issue.

I have also tried the following receiver and have the same issue

    Pioneer 1024-k

    Pioneer 1224-k

    Onkyo NR636 - Current reciever

So for me to watch tv, I have to turn on my receiver, tv, direct and then xbox after all those have booted up. If I switch inputs on the receiver and come back, I also have to power cycle my xbox one for the TV to come back. Even if I run an app like the
NFL app, I have to power cycle my xbox when I switch to TV.

I have tried calling customer support and basically they are saying why don't you run rgb wires and optical instead of HDMI. Whats the point of an HDMI pass thru if it doesn't work.

Any help from anyone out there?

    :)

Trouble hooking up xbox with HDMI

I'm having trouble hooking my new xbox 360 s up with hdmi. I'm running HDMI from xbox

to onkyo receiver and HDMI out from onkyo receiver to Pioneer Kuro TV. This is the same setup for my blu ray player and satellite - no problems with either. No video or

audio for xbox. I've confirmed that xbox works by hooking up with components directly to another TV (not through a receiver). I switched HDMI cables - still no audio/video. Any help? Thanks!

No Sound when playing AVI files - all of the sudden

    Hey Cheezes,

Thanks for asking here in the forums. So, to start off, when you set-up your console on the alternate TV, the Pioneer receiver was not a part of the setup, correct? Also, if you set up your Xbox 360, bypassing the Pioneer on the original setup, do you
    also get sound?

If both of those questions are answered with a 'yes', there may be a compatibility issue with the AVI codec that you used and the Pioneer. You may want to check with the settings on the reciever, or maybe a supported file format documentation for the receiver
    on the Pioneer website.

Give those questions an answer, and take a look at the support for the Pioneer. Let us know what you find out.

This is an old issue in my experience, and there doesn't seem to be any way to get traction with Microsoft on fixing it.

Microsoft doesn't really care. They said it might be the avrs fault. Lol I tried 3 different ones. They can't all be the issue

So I had my Xbox one exchanged at the MS store. The problem keeps happening. So I went thru setup and it worked, then I switched inputs and came back and the same issue with live tv. It's a handshake issue after the Xbox goes idle on the hdmi port. I went
into device settings in the tv section and it said hdmi not connect when it clearly is. So I reset the tv settings and it came back up immediately. It's a Microsoft Xbox software handshake issue and needs to be fixed asap.

I have the same problem with my Xbox ONE connected through my Denon receiver the only way to get the picture to come up after it has been idle for a while is to unplug the HDMI cable out of the back of the DirecTV box and plug it back in. After doing this
everything runs fine but tell me if I have to get out of my chair every time I watch TV what is the point of "Xbox on" to turn on all my devices at once. It is seriously annoying and I wish there was a solution to this!

You can get a similar result with Pioneer receivers if you have a TV that supports ARC (Audio Return Channel.) Connect the XBox to your TV. If you set the source on the Pioneer to the TV, then the audio is "moved" from the TV to the Pioneer receiver, although
it takes a few seconds to resync. I've done this using a Samsung 6900 Series LED TV with a Pioneer VSX 1121-K.
