Your TV does not support 4k 10bit at 60hz

in the 4k info page of settings my TV xbox one x reports that

"your TV does not support 4k 10bit at 60hz, you can still upscale games if you select 4k output"

Does this mean I will not get access to the 4k native rendering mode on games?

If so I feel I have been missold this console as I was only told I needed a 4k tv, no mention was made of what modes were necessary to chess 4k game rendering.

I accepted I would not have hdr,but I bought explicitly for access to nativev 4k games.

    :)

Is there a bug with the xbox one s detecting hdr10 ?

I have a ks8000 and the 4k tv details is saying It doesnt support 4k 10bit at 24hz, 50z,60hz or that it supports hd10 video, when in fact it should . I've tried all the troubleshoots , idk if I contact Microsoft or samsung lol

  3. 4K games on a 4K TV with 8bit panel.

So I was reviewing my display settings and noted that in the 4K details menu, my set does not supports 4K@60Hz at 10bit.

My Tv is a Sony XBR-55X850B, the specs sheet says it supports a 3840x2160/60p (8bit) video signal. It has not HDR support.

I read that the signal would be displayed at 1080p upscaled to 4K.

I was thinking on getting the XboneX but I´m not sure if my tv would get true 4K at 8bit even without the HDR option, or if the signal would be down scaled to 1080p.

    Any thoughts?

    Hi Stumpy493,

Sorry you're having issues with your video output. What make and model TV are you using? Click the

to see what the video requirements for the Xbox are. Without knowing what model TV you have, it's hard to say. I will recommend that you ensure you're using the HDMI cable that came with the One X, and double check to ensure it's plugged into
an HDCP 2.2 compliant port. Additionally some TVs (like my brand new Samsung 4k) have certain menu options that need to be enabled before the Xbox will detect it correctly.

Yes it is my understanding that you won’t have “native 4k” without it. Did you say your TV is not HDR? I think that is why you are not getting that last checkbox. When I pass through my audio receiver(does not support HDR) I don’t get that check box. When
I go directly to the TV(does support HDR) I do get it. No worries though mine won’t display in 4k no matter how I configure my entertainment center or what cables I use, so you’re not missing anything.

you should be able to play the 4k titles with the standard Hz, the 60hz that its mentioning is concerning to recording in 4k. I had to go into my tv setting to allow deep color to be enabled in HDMI 1 to get everything to be checked off. So if i were you
i would go look into your tv settings to see if there is any enable settings you can turn on

  7. Can you try going back a screen and picking 10 bit encoding? It might be you have 8 bit selected.

There's also the matter of not all HDMI ports supporting the same specs. I've recently got an LG 49SJ810V but initially the XB1X told me the TV couldn't support HDR10 which it most definitely can. Switching the XB1X from HDMI2 to HDMI1 solved that though.

I found out I need to go into the tv settings and switch the humidity port to enhanced mode, that's a strange step to need
