Forgot to mention I love this thread, always nice to see the reminiscing of other big time gamers, I don't know a lot of those anymore.

 

Cloud, LOL. You mean resetti? The mole that popped up if you ended without saving? Aww, I loved him. Unless you mean actual pokemon...then I never liked diglet. I loved Animal Crossing. It was pretty adorable at the time and the characters had such incoherent
dialogue. It was also a way to customize furniture and characters without all the hassle that Sims entails of up-keeping your character's daily functions.

I was really surprised by Fatal Frame 2 considering when I got it...it was in a half off bin I think at a gamestop. The storyline was really captivating and it successfully achieved the creepy factor while playing for me at least. It was also a different
form of combat from the usual gun/sword/blunt object setup. :3 I was really excited to get my PS3 last year in order to play the other games in the franchise. I would love to see it return. I think they made a similar 3DS game and wii game with the "spirit
camera" ideology but I don't remember seeing very favorable reviews.

 

Anyone remember buying games on cassettes published by MAD games at £1.99 per game in the early 1980's?

 

I've been gaming for as long as I can remember on such classics as the BBC Micro.

Don't recall the exact date but I was walking through my local branch of the now dearly departed Woolworths and spotted a 360 bundle with Mass Effect. I had cash on the hip and bought it.

Best memory would be riding out in a forum posse in Red Dead: Redemption. Then deciding to shoot one of them, sorry Brako, in the back of the head for an achievement.

First game was the aforementioned Mass Effect.

The only 'anything' I can think of is how sadly the 360 has taken a step to being just a media streamer for me. I've always been a PC gamer as well but as time has gone on, my console has had less and less to offer.

I really hope at some point there is a 'wow' that gets me back into my console gaming.

 

I started gaming in the late 80's, off and on. I went through the NES, SNES, PS1 and PS2, then onto the 360.

I haven't gamed in quite awhile now...just kinda lost interest. I'm planning to get back into it, prolly later this year when I plan on getting an Xbox ONE.

 

@Bong..... I remember Leisure Suit Larry on my dad's PCjr... buying "protection"..... LOL.... that needs to be remade for a console..... plus Kings Quest, Space Quest,.. etc....... Sierra GAmes were brilliant.....

 

Hovering, the classic GTA games were pretty hard! I remember the London one being insane for me to get through. Not that I didn't enjoy them, they just took some getting used to lol.

melsiii, Yesssss!! Resetti. The most annoying character that ever existed in the history of games. Man that thing would just rant and rant and rant some more. Often did I turn my game off in fury at listening to his excessive moaning lol. As for Fatal Frame
I haven't played the 3DS counter part but I did play the titles that were released over here in the UK. 1, 2 and 3. You're right, for a game with not so much as one gun, and the only weapon is a camera, it pulled it off amazingly.

Nemesis, see FF7 was my first one. I never had the pleasure of playing the older ones. Not that I can remember anyway. I may of played a few of them on the Snes but nothing screams out at me so I class 7 as my starting point. Love the games to bits as you
can probably imagine lol. Ruby weapon takes no prisoners eh :/

Amnesty, hit me up if you get an Xbox One dude they are pretty solid and very enjoyable. Luckily you will have a lot more game options for you when you get round to getting it. *nudge* Destiny *nudge*.

vote, woolworths <3 last I heard they still retailed online didn't they? Or has that fell through too. I loved that store. As for something brining you back to consoles, picture a mass effect collection on Xbox One only. Would that do it? As well as playing
some DR3 with moah?

 

Cloud, Ruby weapon was awful(in a good way), and somehow I absent mindly did not make the connection to your gamertag and FFVII. Age has fried my brain, and I'm not even that old.

Ruby was just evil and his stupid tentacles. The little tentacle burrowing fool. I raged so much with that. Another one was Gi Attack and yet a simply X potion will kill him. I was face slapped when I found that out.

And Ruby Weapon - ughh all I remember was tentacles, sand, and me rage quitting.

Lmao, well you remember pretty much the same as me I think they must of been semi-trolling us all with that boss. Definitely the hardest boss in that game, bar none.

left its U.S parent company and went into Administration in 2009. Sad times.

Woolworths no longer exists in the U.S. In 1997 the company began the transition to Footlocker Inc.

 

Just found out the Footlocker was born out of Woolworth's the other day from five and dime to expensive shoes, kinda crazy.
