I give up... I tried to download this game for 3 days and it still won't allow me to do so. xbox you have failed me...

 

ok i think i figured it out, just got dungeon siege 3 via vpn.

so basically i'm using xbox one console in taiwan since i moved here a few months ago

my ip would therefore be in taiwan but my account still in canada, hence cannot make the purchase

i just vpn'd my ip to canada and purchase went through smoothly.

so either, match your account to your ip or match your ip to your account to make the purchase.

that's my theory at least. still hope microsoft can fix this and allow simple x360 purchase off console

 

still not working with the vpn stuff the developer locked the purchased! ...

 

I saw a post from someone else earlier this morning. They, too, were in a different region than their gamertag was set for.

For future reference you will always have issues downloading content to a different region than it was intended for. To prevent this please ensure that your gamertag and physical location are the same.

 

So, I'm having the same issue and I contacted support about it. I tried through the website and the support rep tried it on their end as well and it wasn't working. Not sure if this is the same error that everyone else is getting but would it be Region Based
if the support rep is getting the same response that I am getting?

The last time I wanted to purchase something on the site and i was in a different location, it gave a location code error where as I only get a "Sorry, you can't buy this" notification this time. It would be nice f they still looked at all options instead
of spitting it out as a region error since the support gets the same error.

There isn't always an error message for region issues. Which country do you live in and which country is your gamertag set for?

 

I live in Japan. No dice for me. Wont work. Bought serious Sam 3 for 360. No problem. Dirt 3 for 360 no problem. Dungeon seige 3. Wont work. The thing that doesn't make sense is that I went to the Japanese Xbox site. Dungen Seige 3 is free in Japan too...
So I go the Japaense site and try to buy through that. Nope. Same error! On with support right not. 30 min and running. She said they have no record of this problem. I copy and pasted the various forums I am looking RIGHT now. She said the engineers have not
logged it as a problem. So they are not even trying top fix it. BUT they are opening a ticket for them and devs to look into. The only other time I ever had a problem like was when I wanted to get I think it was Duke 3D for the 360 and it would not let me
do it, the game was banned in Japan. 8 years in Japan and that was the only game I could not download (and I have a TON of games). But it gave me a "not avaiable in your region" message.

 

The strange thing is I can find the game under the Japaense Xbox.com page. But not on Smart Glass app. The smart glass app is weird. It shows half the content in English and for the US region. Then if I go to the store or achievement, everything is Japanese.
It seems to be the "true" Japanese store. The games for gold free games and sales are simalr but not all the same. For example the brand new Need for Speed is on sale, which I am don't it is in the US region. I also can not find the game listed at all when
searching. Either in Japanese or English. It just seems to not exists in the Japan market. But then why does it show up on the Japanese Xbox.com page and why is that page different from the one smart glass is showing me.

 

After a few days , finaly i've purchased Dungeon Siege 3. I live in Kazakhstan and i have Russian account, because there is no Kazakh accounts for Xbox Live. I've connected to my friend in Russia , and purchased game with no problems. So, try to use proxy
server of that region , where your account is to purchase through xbox.com store.

 

I talked to support trough chat and after 2 hours of trying everything they failed to help me ! They told me that they are trying to fix it and to wait until 22nd november and if then won't still work I should call them again. So , we gonna wait and see.
