Your Pins

I simply would like to know how you organize your pins on your Xbox One console so we can share, compare, and gain new organizational ideas off of each other. You can answer this question normally or use the table function under rich formatting. Conversely,
you can also do what I did below and create a table in MS Word or other similar office program and copy it over into your post.

You do know that you can add a pin to your console so that when you sign in on it, the Dashboard asks for your pin (not account password) it's a 6 digit password. You can also program it so that when you buy stuff on your console, it asks for your
PIN. I'd like to see your toddler sir figure out your 6 digit PIN. If you want to set up a PIN on Xbox 360, it's only a 4 Digit PIN where as on Xbox 1 they went with the extra security of a 6 Digit PIN.

According to the good Major Nelson, pins will roam with you. Whatever you pin in SmartGlass will be there on your Xbone dash when you login on Friday.

 

My pins change around a lot.

Right now I have all the games I can play, disc or digital pinned. So it's a view of everything I have when choosing to play.

At one point I only had my Digital games pinned, that way whatever I clicked would auto start, instead of me getting a disc.

I also put some of my most used Apps pinned, Netflix, Video, Music, Crackle, Upload, Fox, NFL. If I'm heavy into a show I also use Smartglass to pin specifically the show I'm watching so it goes right to it. Pinning a movie is sweet, right when you click
it, it begins.

My favorite recent pin is a playlist from Xbox Music where I have all Music videos. So everytime I boot up the XB1 I select that pin, snap Music, and have my own music video station going while browsing Xbox.

 

For me, I tried to organize my pins (see above) in such a way that it made certain "system" areas available quickly that I felt should have been more easily accessible on the initial home screen and with certain similar tiles grouped closely together (such
as with Upload Studio and Game DVR; Friends with Party and Activity, etc.). I was going to put up my most used games and apps, but I found it to be too cluttered and unorganized, especially when I could just use the voice commands to access them or the my
games and apps menu that already displays them all in an orderly fashion.

 

Can anyone explain the existence of avatars on the xbox one?? Lol..I just don't get why they still exist.

 

My pins are just a collection of my most used items.... my most played digital game or 2 and a collection of my most used apps...Netflix, YouTube, TV, ESPN, Skype, ie, settings.

 

Youtube, my games, achievements, party and game dvr, nothing else i currently need there

 

I don't really see a need for pinning anything since you can start up an app simply by saying go to such and such.

 

I don't use the pins at all, I use the voice commands or scroll, and to go onto friends its on the main dashboard.

 

I've been using voice commands for apps, because they are simple. My favorite being "Xbox Snap Crackle"!

But when it comes to games, some of them are just too much to say. So I like using pins for them, just like I enjoy looking at my disc collection on the shelf, I like looking at the game pins.

Also on 360 I have all my games on demand (not arcade) pinned like a virtual library to shift through.

 

The furthest right column from top to bottom is achievements, YouTube and Twitch. To the left of that are all my games.

 

I only pin TV shows I'm watching on Hulu Plus so it fires up the app and goes straight to the latest episode I watched. If I had a digital copy of ACIV I'd totally pin that as the voice command is unnecessarily long. Otherwise I just navigate by voice.

 

I don't see a point of using voice commands for launching games mainly because I have to have the controller on to play the games.

The apps are usually passive and easy to voice command.

 

Voice commands for switching games is so fast. Providing you have a bunch of digital games like I do. I can go from playing a match in Killer Instinct to a mission in Strike Suit Zero then over to Dead Rising 3 pretty smoothly. My friend is constantly amazed
at how I switch games so fast.
