    Your parent's account isn't valid


    so I go to play my Black ops 2 game on my Xbox One when it doesn't sign me onto my Xbox live like usual. I go to sign in manually and it says that my parent's Microsoft account isn't valid and that they should choose a different account to manage mine. It
    still gives me the option to play offline but I have no clue why it won't let me use my Xbox Live. It's not happening anywhere else on my Xbox as far as I'm aware.

    Any suggestions?

    My son is trying to sign into Call of Duty Black Ops II with his Xbox Live Gold account. This is the error message he gets:

    Your parent's account isn't valid [​IMG]

    My account is the parent account, and it is certainly valid. I spent around an hour on the phone with technician yesterday. She said she was going to research the issue and call me back. She never did. I was on with another technician today named Chris.
    The call was disconnected, and he never called me back.

    I worked with a tech named Andrea this morning. He believes that some aspect of my account is in an unverified status, but we got disconnected before troubleshooting that issue. The ticket ID is: SRX1382355738ID

    Here's the exact message, "Your parent's Microsoft account isn't valid. Your parent needs to choose a different account to manage your Xbox profile." It gives me 2 options, "Change Parent Microsoft Account" or "Play offline".

    Sorry to hear about the trouble adding a parent account to your child account. To check, was the parent account recently created? If it's under 30 days old you may need to wait a bit. If not, let's get you in contact with
    Phone/Chat support to better help out with the connected parent account.

    Parents account not valid

    Hi Puzzigully,

    I had a similar issue where signing in on the 360 with a child account would show the message "Your parent account isn't valid".

    What worked for me and got the account back to normal was to remove the child account from the family and
    re-add it using an Xbox One. I had also removed my account from the console but I don't think that this had anything to do with it.

    When adding the child account to the family on the Xbox One it also asks to select a parent Xbox Live account/Gamertag to link it to which is what might fix the "isn't valid" error.

    Not sure if you're still having the issue, but that might help.
