FIRST OFF! THANK YOU FOR ANY HELP!

Hey y'all so I’m experiencing some issues with my NAT. Currently I’m stuck on a moderate NAT, which gets the job done if I’m not playing with friends, but will eventually boot me from destiny servers (which if you play destiny, I don’t have to tell you
how annoying that is). So I’ve tried everything guys; from port forwarding, hard reset of my modem, router and Xbox, testing multiplayer connection and pressing the triggers and bumpers after switching it to power saving mode. So im stumped peep, the only
thing I haven’t done has been bridging my router and modem (which I have zero knowledge on how to do). I need help guys!

*NOTE* I’ve called my provider about the private and public IPs and the gentlemen I talked to was completely unwilling to help me.

    Router: Belkin F5D9230-16

    Modem: **** TM822

    Internet Provider: Optimum

Now onto my second problem; awhile back I used a different GT but lost access to it when my dad passed and I wasn’t able to get onto live again with that GT. Now the problem isn’t the GT, its what’s on the GT. Back when Halo’s first anniversary title
was released I pre ordered my copy and got the Mjolnir armor for my Avatar. Long story short, when I tried to access my avatar iteams it wasn’t there. So m wondering is there any way I would be able to get that back for my New GT or is it lost to me forever?

    :)

    Port forwarding question

I have discovered why my X1 reports a Strict or Moderate NAT sometimes and it's after one of the 360s uses one of the ports the X1 needs. As soon as a Live port is used for a 360 via UPnP, 3074 for example, the X1 drops to Strict.

This is exactly the reason why I use UPnP, because if 360 1 is using 3074, UPnP will map 360 2 to a different port number that grants the same access as 3074 allowing both to communicate with the Live service at the same time, thus granting an Open NAT to all connected 360s. The X1 is not triggering port forwarding via UPnP to utilise this feature, so is the device that suffers when a 360 is in use.

The PS3 used to have a UPnP enable/disable option on the console itself, which I thought was odd, but perhaps if the 360 had this, enabling it would tell the console to use UPnP, which once it uses UPnP to trigger the ports I'm sure it will resolve the multiple device issue.

    For reference:

    • When I have an Open NAT, the X1's Detailed NAT Information says: Your network is behind a cone NAT
    • When I have a Moderate NAT, the X1's Detailed NAT Information says: Your network is behind a port-restricted NAT
    • When I have a Strict NAT, the X1's Detailed NAT Information says: Your network is behind a port-preserving port-symmetric NAT

Bypass the router and hook the xbox directly into the arris modem , reboot the modem and the xbox and see if NAT is open at that point , if yes , you know the router is the bad guy , if still no , then your isp is doing it.......as far as the GT , you will
need at least the email to recover that....

    1. Forward / trigger your ports.
    2. Use DMZ feature.
    3. Enable UPnP.
    4. Repeat the Internet connection test.
    5. Turn off UPnP settings.
    6. Enable Access Point feature and turn the UPnP on.

1st time I hear about firehawk router. Don't know the specifics of ot, better check on the bottom of the router there should be exact model and manufacturer, providers like to stick their custom names on there.

Steps to take to fix this since routers layout are usually the same.

First of all go to settings on the xbox.-> Network settings -> advanced settings -> write down everything you have under ip address/subnet mask/gateway.(On the right side)

Put ip settings to manual and reenter everything there as it was, just change the ending of the ip address itself, for example if its 192.168.0.1 add +10 to the ending so put 192.168.0.11 for example, subnet mask and gateway remain the same.

Then go to a computer or a laptop, open internet explorer and type in the gateway address as a website so instead of www.xbox.com you put in 192.168.0.1 (most often used gateway).

It will ask for username and password. (I have no idea what they might be, search on the internet for default ones for your model/router or it might be a on a sticker on the router itself where it shows your wireless password and wireless name but router
passwords and wireless passwords are not one and the same)

Then on the router go to advanced and then find DMZ or WAN setupid, depending on what tab it is. Basically your searching for DMZ host or Dmz default server or anything that is saying DMZ. Turn it on and then 2 things might happen, it will tell you to enter
ip address (4 boxes, you put in the one that you set up on the xbox 192.168.0.11) or it will have a drop down menu, where xbox one will appear as XBOX OS or Unknown device 192.168.0.11. Either way just set it up correctly and click apply.

After you did that unplug the power from the router for 30 settings and plug back in. After its done restart the xbox also, no real need to power cycle then go to the xbox -> settings -> network -> advanced -> alternative mac address -> reset. It will restart
    the xbox.
