"Your network is behind a cone NAT". Not able to talk to other players.

*XBOX ONE* To make a long story short, I got on my xbox to play with friends , joined a chat party and everything was fine. All of sudden nobody could hear me but i can hear them andd i tried everything possible. Unplugging my mic and putting it back in,
restarting my xbox, restarting my modem and router and the problem did not go away. I talked to Microsoft and they couldn't help me. So at first my NAT type was Strict. Restarted my internet and now it says its Open behind a cone NAT and i have no idea what
that means. But either way, other players cannot hear me and this is really getting frustrating. I don't think its a hardware issue if it was just working fine and i dont want to buy a new controller and mic and the problem not be solved. Does anybody know
anything about solving this problem or experiencing the same thing? Please help! Thanks.

At my witts end with trying to get an open NAT!!!!

You said you restarted your internet , did you hard reset the xbox one also ?

 

Yes hard reset , even drained all the power out of the xbox and still nothing. I can play online just fine but no one can hear me no matter what i do.

 

when you snap the party chat , does you mic icon animate like you are speaking or stays dead ?

 

Stays dead. Doesnt even show me talking but i can hear other people fine through the headset.

 

did a skype test , no feedback from the mic so im guessing its the mic that went out. turns out "Behind a cone NAT" is what the NAT should be doing. Thanks for the help btw.

 

I would plug in the controller to the usb and see if it will update , leave the headset adapter AND the mic/headset connected to it , see if that might jar something lose ...
