Your disc drive will fail too!

Xbox one has been good eat with BC, ea access, and it runs cool all day. After taking perfect care for my blue Ray discs the Drive broke making weird noises. It just cheap hardware I fear, hope it skips you but just wow, thanks m$. Out of warranty with broken
disc drive.

DISC DRIVE FAIL

took 11 months for my disc drive to take a crap. sent it in for repair. got it back (finally) yesterday and im installing stuff and the disc drive gives me the same issues! did they actually fix or replace it? because it seems like they just wiped out the
disk drive and factory reset then shipped it back to me. i contacted support and they said send it back (ill be without it for the holidays and another 2-3 weeks) or pay 15$ and put a 400$ retainer (wich i dont have) on a credit card. very *** off. now everyone
laughs and said i shoulda bought a ps4 cuz sony actually uses good blu ray drives, wich makes sense, they invented the *** thing! so now im stuck for now with the same crappy disc drive. the old one scratched my bros dragon age disc now he says his console
cant read the disc so i had to buy him another disc. worst experience ever.

 

What would you like to see in an Xbox One Slim

Love for them to make a reliable console that has a working disc drive. No reason the Xbox One disc drive should fail in a year if it downloads the game to your console!!

No doubt grounchy, at least digital still works! At least I can sell it for half the value since half the xbone does work. Twenty year old DVD player works fine but two year old gaming/media machine can't read discs. Impermanence can take a hike. Maybe apple
could make a optical drive, idk?

 

Man that sucks. If I had a drive I would send it to you. I know there are some on eBay so if you are inclined you could open it since it is out of warranty. I did that with a PS3 and a Wii (not the U). That is what I would do myself since that would
be cheaper than a new console. Unless you are just in the market for a new one which it does not really should like you are.

 

it is the drives that are push in the disc versions, they have always been dodgy of falling out of alignment which causes clicking and knocking, when putting the disc in hold it for 1 second as it grips the disc to see if that works, if it does it is usually
a really easy fix.

 

My drive works fine and I use it every day.

Your bad luck is your's alone. Not Microsofts fault.

P.S. I like the "Xbone" and the "M$" reference. Not a bash Microsoft thread at all.

Had both consoles since launch still on my original ps4 when my xbox comes back from repair this will be my 3rd repair

My day one is still under warranty until February because of extended warranty and if it breaks even a day after that I'll be fine with replacing it

 

Rather than spread doom and gloom to others, I will counter with hope and optimism and a messgae to all xbox one owners: Your disc drive WILL NOT FAIL !!! Balance returned.

 

My 5th disc drive has just failed.Considering how little use it gets that is shocking.

Wanted to upgrade anyway but that's not the point.

 

my day one still works perfectly, but my friends day one started having the issue that he had to hold the disc for a second, he ended up opening it, clean the disc feeder, and has been working since.

it's just what happens when the lowest bidder is commissioned to mass produce something,

the redesign of the X1 will most likely have a better drive.

 

i have had absolutely no issues with mine but in my defence its hardly used most of my games are digital so..

have to say though 5 disc repairs is excessive badger
