    So, while on vacation last month, our box profile linked to our Microsoft account suddenly stopped working. This happened right when we connected to the resort wi-fi, so we got off of it immediately. It feels as though we may have been hacked, and someone is using our information as an alias, thus why I am getting a prompted error explaining that my email does not exist.

    After doing some research and digging, I recovered the account using the correct info. I open my email and follow the instructions to reset my password; however, once I enter my Microsoft email that I am having issues with mentioned above gives me an error that says my account does not exist. How can this be? The fund exists if I received an email from Microsoft confirming verification, correct?

    I saw in an earlier conversation you were able to check out the user email by having them send it to you in a private message so you could check it out. Could you do the same for me?

    Well, it's hard to tell you what happened exactly.
    Maybe the hacker deleted the emails associated to that account, just to give you an example.

    In this case I can advise you try one more time with you the recovery form.

    Due to Microsoft support is not able to help you recovering the account or view / share / modify the information associated, privacy policies.

    The email I received after doing recovery was confirmed. It worked just fine; however, when it asks for my email so that I can reset the password it says it no longer exists. If I were to go and rest my password directly, It would recognize my email and asks for my password. I no not have access to my phone number or email no longer, so I had to recover the account.
