There is nothing you can do. It has been this way for at least several years, because I have continually checked for my son's ability to purchase (or get free) things on the xbox.com website. Apparently anyone under the age of 18 lacks the ability to purchase
anything other than on the console itself regardless of the settings you parental controls you choose.

So, your nephew will be missing out on the Xbox 360 Games With Gold, just like my son does currently.

I don't get it why is there a backward compatibility if you need a xbox 360 to let it function properly?

You can't tell me that Microsoft didn't consider that you don't have a xbox 360 and like to have those xbox 360 gold games they are spreading all over the media as free and available on xbox one?

I don't seem to get any answer from someone in the xbox support team that can help (and no I am not going to lent a xbox 360 and don't know someone who own one).

I am looking for a email address that I can send to to get some help but all I can find is chat, support forums and twitter. But a simple mail address is missing.

Does someone know where I can email them, because if this issue isn't resolved (not even recognized)

Then I am going to miss a whole lot of free games.

You don't need a 360

It's only for first time region checks for free games like games with gold it's a legal check that cannot be bypassed

It's to prevent people to switching regions to take advantage of things that they aren't supposed like get our of region content

The region checks are set by the publishers

 

It's is very easy for you to borrow a console or rent one from your local store

You only need to do it once and all region checks will pass for free games as long as your account location and actual location match

 

You keep saying that you don't need a xbox 360.

But then you tell me you need one for region check. Even if it is one time it is something you are not supposed to do.

My account and region check on xbox one is United States, I can set it here on the site.

Why isn't there a option to do this for the xbox 360 ?

Is it so much to ask to let several of us just download the xbox360 gold games which we deserve?

I can't and will not lent a xbox 360 , where does it state in the media or rules you need to first use a xbox360 to get those free games?

I am getting fed up about something which supposed to be so simple. Can I not set the region check here or something? this is getting tiresome because I always here the same solution but those don't work for me.

 

You need a xbox 360 to complete the check a xbox one will not pass the region check

That has already been saif so many times

To get free games you must pass the account region actual region and console region compatibility check

An xbox one won't last that last check

You NEED to pass that check one time to download free games

That means renting a console or borrowing one once to pass the check

 

Xbox one doesn't have a hard coded region hence why it's region free xbox 360 are hard coded understand now?

Once you pass the region check once you can download all future games with gold as long as you have gold

 

Region checks are out in place by the publishers you can't remove it

 

The exact error is you cannot complete this purchase please complete it on your console or the old msg is this your first purchase please complete on your 360 console

 

You do not need it every time you only need to do it once to complete the check as stated that is the solution

Credit card will always be needed

 

People will migrate to Korea is an example or Germany for shadow run and I forget that one game in Korea tat was free

Ok, maybe my nephew knows a friend who owns a xbox 360.

This is really frustrating stuff.

So my account on xbox one is region United States. I buy most of my games digitally in the US store with prepaid cards I buy at Microsofts website, on the xbox one there is also paypal on the parent account .

I have set the region on the website for the xbox 360 to United States (and now can't change it for 3 months).

I live in Belgium and so my nephews friends also lives there, what should I do?

Log in with the parents account is I think a no go because there isn't gold on that one.

I have allowed in the settings that he can purchase anything.

So must I login with his account and then go to the free games and start the download and then log out?

What insurance do I have that that person isn't going to use my account and buy other stuff?

Do you know if this is being looked at because people are complaining about the complexity and it is really becoming absurd (I don't like to use my payment on someone else xbox 360).

To be honest I am very close to giving up this could be so simple and yet they make it so complex.

Just put it like the xbox one games to download and let you set the region of xbox 360 to where you bought the xbox one.

The common solution that is missed is parental privacy settings. If you are unable to purchase or download an application to your xbox, try it from the xbox. You can always check your privacy settings in your account settings.

Also, do you have a valid active gold membership?

Only those with gold can have access to the free games.
