"Your account does not have the correct permission to access Xbox LIVE functionality".

I have recently purchased an Xbox One S. When I launch a game (any game) I am getting an error message which says: "Your account does not have the correct permission to access Xbox LIVE functionality".

Try to change these settings: Settings->Privacy&Online Safety->Custom->Enable "Multiplayer Games" option. Then reboot your console and try again.

 

Keep in mind if you are trying to play an online multiplayer game in xbox live you need to have an xbox gold membership

 

I am having the same problem, it was working fine today but now it wont allow me to login.

 

I do have a membership with xbox gold live but im still receiving this message.

 

I can not find the "Enable Multiplayer Games" option anywhere

You may check on this link : Sign in to your Microsoft account

This will automatically bring the Privacy & online safety section. Select or click

Under *Privacy , look for *Others can communicate with voice, text, or invites ; this should be allowed. If already allowed, please block it , hit submit then set it to allow again then submit.

Under *Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety, look for *Join multiplayer games.

Repeat the steps mentioned above is the setting is already set to Allow.

Restart your console afterwards then try again to play on multiplayer mode.
