"You'll need the internet for this"

After this most recent update I cant connect to Xbox Live no matter what I do. Every time it powers on I get sent to a screen that says "You'll need the Internet for this." My connection is fine and all my other devices are connected to my wireless network just fine. I went through all the steps that the system recommends. Nothing is working. Cold boots dont help either.
