Both the Xbox One and the PS4 were brought to market before they were ready, the Xbox One more so because back at E3 last year Microsoft had to backpedal over the "always online" stuff, which effected the OS. Also remember the Xbox One has 15 co processors
(don't know what they do) something the ps4 doesn't have.

Only now are we seeing what the Xbox One can really do, Forza Horizon 2 looks and plays awesome. Also remember the current fiasco about Assassins Creed Unity and it's going to be 900p on both consoles? In a statement the developer said it was because of
the amount of AI which is all done by the CPU, not the GPU. And remind me again, which console had its CPU upgraded to 1.7Ghz instead of the normal 1.6?

So using the info from the developer, it's the PS4 which is holding back the game, not the Xbox One.

Either way you look at it though, both consoles aren't anywhere nearly as powerful as a top end pc. But then they don't cost the same neither, and they don't have drivers, patches, mods to worry about, just put the disc in and play.

Your last paragraph isn't actually true anymore. There are several companies making budget gaming PC's that don't cost much more than a console but have more power and are upgradeable.

The days of worrying about drivers, patches and even installing game mods (which aren't even available on a console) is all automated now.

So basically you don't need to be any smarter to game on a PC than a console anymore.

Your right, you can get a PC that can run games decently for roughly the same price as a console, but when you buy a console game, the graphics you see on the back of the box is what the game will look like on your tv guaranteed.

On pc though, the pictures on the back of the box or on steam aren't what the game will look like. They will only look like that if your pc can meet (or usually beat) the recommended specs.

That's why I got out of pc gaming, I was sick of buying a game and then having to turn off this feature, or lower the resolution etc.

I agree. The one thing that does remain is that your wallet determines how "pretty" your game is going to look.

 

Out of all the posts in this threads RANDVER and SHAGGYS post is the one you comment on because it involves someone saying the cpu in the xbox one is better then the one in the ps4 which is true it is its a highly modified cpu

Nope. Not true at all and most of that is down to a matter of opinion or preference. Xbox 360 is maxed out but is that to say that there wont be some amazing games on there yet to come? Think less about comparing and more about what they have to offer, if
you are still unhappy then, console gaming may not be for you. I don't mean that to sound nasty ^

 

Upon initial release. MS Consoles were never. "The best." However, after ironing out problems before releasing later models then they did secure a spot among the best.

My gaming consoles that I still own which work 100% of the time.

1) Sega Genesis w/Mega CD, and 32X add-on. Yes, we still play it. Sonic CD is a blast!

2) Sega Dreamcast.

3) Original Xbox. (Not the Tompson DDE-Sparking internal power supply model.)

4) Xbox 360 Slim. Again, not the earlier (Phat) versions. (RROD)

Thus when it comes to MS consoles, I learned back in 02 that it's best to wait a few years after their initial release for MS and it's Suppliers, to iron out all the hardware/software failures.

I would add the PS2/3 but those consoles, and most of the games I had for them came up missing somehow.

What they should be typing on here is " NOT TRUE IN MY OPINION"

Also 360 is maxed out ? and how do you know that ? do you programme games for a living ? do you build hardware ? you also go on to say that not to say some amazing games may come out in the not so distant future. This statement contradicts your earlier
statement that the 360 is maxed out.

Obviously MS don't believe this as they still sell the 360, developers don't believe this as they still continue to make games for it.

Besides you might be saying the same thing about the XBOne in 5 years as it struggling to do the majority of games in 1080 P now never mind in 5 years.

Don't believe the hype, always make your own assumptions when parting with your cash.

What I meant by maxed out is that the next gen was released. Which usually means that to some degree, the previous gen couldn't cope with the games that developers want to make. Dead Rising 3 for example, a launch title. I recollect the developers saying
that the 360 wasn't capable of playing it. Unless you do programming for a living and you can tell me I am wrong?



There is no contradiction. I meant exactly what I implied, you have just misunderstood. What I meant is that a console doesn't have to be uber powerful to produce good games.
