You should only buy games by it cover.

I would not base my buying a game just on the cover art, but it still plays a magical part of buying a game, when games use to be on tape format, the box art was extremely nice and I think it is a necessary part of games.

honestly wish i could go back to buying a game with little to no knowledge of it. just pick something up because of the cover, title, and synopsis on the back...far too often i get obsessed with some new title and absorb every single detail to the point
where actually playing the game is almost like an afterthought.

Yeah covers don't always prove a game is good. Heck, most good games have some crappy covers these days, so it's hard to tell if a game is good by the cover these days anyways.

I only by games that I am interested in or a friend asks for help with. The cover has no influence over those two factors.

Making the Madden, NCAA & NHL covers from EA is generally considered a curse among the more superstitious pro athletes. The cover athlete tends to get hurt the following season.
