You put in a screen size calibration page but didn't put in anyway to move it.

I'm looking at this calibration screen size chart in the HD calibration options and there is no way to adjust it. Am I missing something? Is there no way to actually adjust it and line up the green line to the edge of the TV screen? They cant be hoping
every HD TV has a fully customizable screen adjustment. In fact, of all the many TVs I have had thur the years, Not one of them ever had that option of a fully customizable screen that moves allowing you to match a green line to the borders of the picture.
They only have 3 or 4 ratio setting choices like widescreen, that just stretches the existing screen and zoom that just zooms in on it and so on . Finally get a chart to adjust the borders of the screen ending the screen fitting issues and there is no way
to move it. LOL,Its useless

problem with picture size using the Xbox one

I have gone through the calibration, I can get the xbox to work fine and it will fit the screen ok. But when I switch to TV mode it is small picture and I have to reset the picture size on the TV and it is over scanned. Then if I go back to the xbox I
have to reset the picture size.

 

A lot of individual games have that setting I didn't remember the console having it but even if it does I don't think it's used in games it would be just for the menus and store

yes, it shows you the line you need to line up with your tv screen border but there is no way to actually move it. Even if some games has that option in that games menu options this screen wouldn't help because you couldn't overlay the games screen to this
screen in the dashboard menu. They have to know hd tv, or any tv doesnt let you fine tune the corners of the screen so the movement would have to be the console. So now your stuck with a really thin picture with stick people because the screen that you use
to line up the pictures borders doesn't have anyway to actually move it to adjust it.

 

set your res to 1080 P on the console and it should be good to go.

yea, I understand how to work around it from the years and years of issues with the 360 fitting the screen and thin looking screen. My point is instead of working around it and using widescreen or another screen settings (even with 1080p) that slightly takes
away picture quality. If this could actually be moved to line up the line they show like it should be, all of that wouldn't be a problem anymore. They are showing me a line that isn't were it should. Telling me to line up the line to were it should be, but
doesn't give me anyway to move it to where its supposed to be.

 

^Not necessarily true that it "wouldn't be a problem anymore." My case is the opposite. My TV is 1080p native, the X1 is set to 1080p. The calibration screen looks fine... but... certain games (and only certain games) have the line you're seeing. One actually
has a line on the left and on the bottom. These lines are so tiny that the only time you actually see them is when the screen is black, but they are there. It's a sync issue, but it seems like the console and the games handle it separate from each other. If
that's the case, there will always be the possibility that one will be a bit off.

 

On my Sony TV the "Display Area" needed setting to "AUTO" to get the green lines on the edge of the screen

The manual setting to achieve the same result is "Display Area - "FULL PIXEL", this is the setting I use for Blu-Ray and Xbox One.

 

mine is normal, things look skinny. 4:3, black bars on each side. movie expand, things look even skinnier. Widescreen, picture is stretched. All 4 of those effect picture quality and sharpness in one way or another with normal having the best picture
quality... Xbox is 1080p, the lines were are suppose to line up is in the HD calibration option pages. I was just making sure I wasn't missing something because I just couldn't see how they would put that in and not give us anyway to adjust it to where the
show the picture is suppose to be.
