You make it really hard to like xbox one!

Same here..since Christmas my One has been rocking like a hurricane. Besides the occasional friend list issues and other little doo dabs that do not affect my gameplay at all i'm in awe..and my 360 just looks at me with puppy dog eyes as it waits for me
to come back lol

 

I'm having problems with the random crashing too.

I've had Xbox 1 since launch (Day 1 edition with Kinect, autographed controller, and sticker), and have had no hardware faults with it. Sure the Dashboard overemphasis on Windows 8, party and loading friends list and slow UI. A UI performance shouldn't solely
be based off your ISP performance. When it first was announced, it looked fat, blocky, no voice messaging (still none).

But I can say there is a lot to like about Xbox 1 right now.

Voice Commands is UNLOCKED for New Zealand locale, there's an extra setting on the Dashboard select English (Australia). Minecraft (Microsoft is so into the game I like they even threw $2.5billion into buying it), Kinect Sports Rivals, Zoo Tycoon, Halo,
ScreamRide, Ori and the lost forest (coming this month), Final Fantasy Type O HD (coming this month), more games, better Dashboard performance and look compared to Launch, change the Dash background, transparent tiles, detailed network stats, can keep track
of bandwidth, Netflix is coming to Australia and New Zealand soon, and the amazing stuff you can do with the Xbox 1 Kinect. It has faster and far more RAM than Xbox 360, a newer processor compared to Xbox 360. I didn't even ask to be in the Preview Program
(don't want to) but M valued me enough to send me an Invite via XBL message anyway. They created an official feedback site and are listening because pretty much every month they keep on adding and improving the system via Updates. Updates are a cure for poor
performance software. Because Xbox 1's hardware is capable of multitasking, 8GB DDR3 RAM and 1.75Ghz 8 core AMD Jaguar APU. Windows 10 is coming soon, so is DirectX12. Well.... that's a long list of what there is to like about Xbox 1. And at launch, there
was no Dolby support, no battery indicator, no recent player list, notifications not working properly, no USB file support, no external HDD support, couldn't even access the internet HDD on your console. Not anymore. And Microsoft is rolling out Updates for
the console pretty much every month. If you're asking me, I think they're doing a good job. I'm actually going onto my Xbox 1 console more time a week now that I use to early/mid last year and before that.

I tried to record myself going to an app in .....about ....3 secs , but a message said " use xbox record that for game clips"

I am a grandad in my 50's , not very tech savy , so I have no idea how to do what you want me to do.

How about I swear on my familys life ..

After recording a clip in cod , I back out of the lobby , and am in menu screen.

I press the big X button in the middle of the pad ..thats 1 sec .

I pull down 1 click and press A on the upload studio tile .....thats 1sec.

The upload studio goe to full screen ...thats 1 sec .

Thats ABOUT 3 second from cod to studio .

I dont know what else to say dude , If your xbox takes ages to go from 1 thing to another ...ring support.

I was playing need for speed last night, it crashed 4 times!

My headset does randomly stop working from time to time aslo...

Lets hope they resolve these issues.

 

Somebody run and try this... see if it speeds up their service... it is the Google DNS switch.. take some benchmarks before and after... on app loading... DLing a,d just overall speed in general.. let me know if it speeds up...

 

No need to as I do not have a problem with speed.... more for the people complaining they do....

Why oh why do people keep citing the optimal performance as a mean average?

That is a straw man argument to take what can occur within 1 second and then declare it is the same for everything or something is wrong.

Mine can do the same with many Features in 1 second but that is not the point of a statement in regards to the issue of the UI being slow. There are other instances that can be dreadfully slow and flat-out Game-breaking. An example (note an example not a be
all source) would be Open the Help App in Snap. I have had it take as long as 50+ seconds to finally Open the App. This is while the Game is still playing in background under Snap usually resulting in death in the Game.

Now before anyone says "don't open help while playing an important part", I did not. Minecraft for example has the Help Button (In-Game) right above the Save. Now combine this with UI that can be sluggish at times (even fractions of a second) it moves slower
then the User (a bad no no in terms of a UI).

The above again is an example, not a citation for being every experience. The point however is this none of this should be happening on a UI that is supposed to be "advanced" when directly compared with the performance of a UI a Generation prior.

 

In that case Lost , every new ui in windows should be " advanced " when compared to earlier versions , are they ?.

Maybe these weekly threads should be in the support forum , where techs can maybe help .

Or in the Playstation forums , where everyone will agree with putting down the Xb1.

I am quite happy with my Xb1 and live service , .
