Put simply, a Force Shutdown. It's a common hardware option especially on PC's when the OS or system stops responding, you are left with a Force Shutdown, a fail safe option when the OS/system doesn't respond which involves pressing a button for a few seconds.
But others will tell you "you know that (force shutdown) is not good for your machine, right?".

my xbox one x makes the below attached buzzing noise when its off and in energy save mode. It comes from about where the internal PSU is (back left) and you have to be pretty close to hear it.

Mine is doing the same thing. Started yesterday and now my system won't boot up. It will make the chime and shuts down after 5 seconds. Nothing on the screen and the buzz gets louder when trying to power it on.

What i want to know if there's another easy shortcut to power cycle the console without having to press the power button in front of the console for 10 seconds as usual i think the full shutdown option on the settings does a power cycle

Plus does the console also make two chimes when selecting shut down this Xbox rather than resetting the console in the troubleshoot menu it's got four options reset this Xbox, offline update , continue and shut down this Xbox and when i select shut down

Due to the frequent updates I get I've noticed the same thing whenever I try to input my

XBOX Passkey before the console has actually finished restarting from a shutdown.

There is a chime that sounds when the Home screen completes loading, so I wait until I hear the chime before pressing the Nexus button to turn the controller on and start the passkey sequence.

1. Turn off Xbox One.

2. Unplug power.

3. Plug the power back to Xbox One 30 seconds later.

4. Press and hold Bind and Eject at the same time (don't release).

5. Press and release the Power button, and then you will hear the startup chime.

6. When you hear the second startup chime, you can release the bind and eject buttons.

7. Select Reset this Xbox on the screen.

8. Select Keep games and apps.
