    Why on the xbox live web site (not console) am I not able to make a purchase unless I load a credit card?

    I do not want my CC loaded on the xbox as it poses a security issue for me, and limits my control over what my children may purchase.

    I do have credit in the form of MS Points - yet the web site refuses to acknowledge this.

    MS Points have been discontinued in favour of currency. This currency is not yet available to be used on the website. However, you can certainly use the currency you have in your account from the Xbox Marketplace without needing to add an alternate payment
    method so long as you have enough to cover the cost of the item you wish to purchase.

    I was just looking for an answer like this, but was surprised that after apparently three months this issue hasn't been resolved on the website yet.

    It's a surprise to me that there doesn't seem to be a join up on the methods of payment; i.e. to have Microsoft account balance (as well as a credit card) available to pay for the download.

    Can anyone shed any light as to when the option to pay directly from the Microsoft account on the website becomes available?

    I've just had a chat with XBox Customer Support (very efficient) who confirmed "The Xbox 360 marketplace has not been updated to use the account balance online."

    I'll get the kids to purchase and download via the console then!

    First off, go in and make sure that your card details haven't been deleted for some reason. After that, double check to make sure that all the info is correct and that the card hasn't expired. If all of these items are correct, then you will need to contact
    Support and have them assist with your concern. Hope all goes well and you get to purchase the game, it's a great one!

    Hi! I'm sorry that you have this issue. Unfortunately, you must have a payment method on file while getting or viewing a backwards compatibility xbox 360 game. Even if this game is FREE,but you will not be charged if you do so you can remove it afterwards
    if you wish. Hope I could help!

    I'm not so sure any of the Mods here will be able to give you the answers you seek. They are two different teams, if it is an issue they are aware of they are likely working a fix for it. I would suggest going to this site
