You guys planning on posting anything about Lizard Squad taking down Xbox Live?

Or are you going to continue to let users think they are having local connection issues and spend hours trying to troubleshoot what the issue might be?

Microsoft, can we fix Xbox live? Hello? Microsoft? Hello?

Xbox live is down for the second time due to Lizard Squad DDOS attacking servers, microsoft can't do anything about it but wait.

I dont understand why, when you know that the lizard squad is attacking you and purposefully hacking you and taking out your servers that you are not trying to do anything about it. I heard about this after i was searching the web to try and find out why
we got knocked offline - first thing to pop up? lizard squad shuts down xbox live - if you read their facebook page or twitter feeds, they say that this is only the beginning - it is so irritating when i spend hundreds of dollars a year on this system and
on games and you cannot protect yourselves.

 

if there was anyone anon really needed to hack it'd be lizard squad. thought they were about anti tyrants.

I am throughly pleased that I pay $60 dollars and they can't keep there servers up. I guess Microsoft truly is ***. Scary to think all of our national defense computers run Microsoft products.

 

Everybody knows it is lizard squad *** with the servers. They have it posted all over twitter and apparently Microsoft is getting a "wonderful Christmas present" this year. They said today was just a taste of what's to come. Microsoft needs to step up their
game and put up some defenses before everything gets thrown out of the window!!!!!

 

Wow I guess Ill just remove my personal info from Microsoft...that's gonna suck...attack on Christmas...knowing MS they wont do a *** thing...They might say sorry of folks personal info gets out..but that's about it.

Quit crying. It was a DDoS attack and there's no way to prevent them. Any and all private information is still private.

 

I agree with the OP. It would be nice if MSFT would simply admit the network is under attack instead of acting like nothing is going on. Seriously, how hard would that be? I for one would respect that.

 

In sense it relates back to and I would have to agree with VisagesOfAnAngel, being an undergrad in computer networking DDoS happen all the time and they are just that; Denial of Service. You information and credit cards can not be leaked out. DDoS attacks
happen all the time, in fact you can a week long attack on Black Markets for $150. Xbox has not and will not publicly announce this has happened because they dont want any media back lashing and from a relatively and some what harmless ddos attack.

 

What I would like to know is how the hell did this lizard squad get a Trojan onto my Xbox???

Cause in order for a DDoS to work there has to be a ton of xbox's trying to connect all at once???

This may be a false flag style attack to try and get everyone to run out and buy the new Xbox one.

What I'm not understanding is these Xbox 360 servers are built to withstand this kind of attack because they are by default programmed to handle millions on connections per second, so how is it that a small group of "hackers" can overwhelm their servers
with a multitude of connections that the severs are designed to accommodate in the first place?!?!? Seems pretty fishy to me! JUST SAYING!
