You gave me 30 days free of xbox live gold. It seems to be active but actually it doesn't work.

just purchased the tomb raider 1tb xbox one bundle, which comes with a 14 day xbox live gold trial. it actually says "activate your 14 day xbox live gold trial." i am having the same issues. cannot dl free games, yet able to chat. if i try to dl a free game,
it wants me to upgrade to gold. WTF? it says live gold trial! explain that!

i know this is the answer section but i couldn't figure out where to post this related question: a mate of mine gave me a 1month trial for xbox live (he got it with a game and doesn't need it.) anyway i activated the code and my profile doesn't say im
a gold member and i cant get the free game in the "games for gold" section. but what gets me is it all worked when i first joined box live.

Same problem here. Chatted with support. They gave me a new code, but still doesn't work. Seems, that it is a problem with the live network. They gave me the advice to try it the next days again.

That's not all either, I can't even get an Xbox Live Gold subscription without a code. Microsoft's servers are a joke.

Actually managed to activate a 2 day gold code from the Xbox One windows 10 app, and lo and behold, even with a subscription active on the account, it still doesn't let me play online, games still prompt to buy Xbox Live Gold.

This whole experience is nothing but frustration.

Well finally waited the 30 days and was able to access my account. Unfortunately now the promotion for a free month of xbox live with the ign app seems to have expired. Tnxs Xbox.
