"You can't start a party because you are already in a party on another device" ...

I get this message every time i have tried to start a party today. I was playing on another console yesterday but I have been playing on two different consoles for several months with no problem. I just recently bought the halo 5 edition Xbox one but party
chat worked on it the day I bought it which was two days ago. I've tried xbox support and they had to investigate further. Anyone have this problem and fixed it?

Already in a party,but I'm not...

I can't start or join parties because it says I'm already in a party on another device,but I am definitely not in a party on another device.

I have tried 2 different Xboxes (and hard resetting them) and the Xbox app on my PC,none of them let me start or join a party.I had some friends join the party that I was apparently in,but it just said that the ghost-me was constantly connecting.

Is there anything I can do to remove myself from this ghost party?It is really irritating not being able to chat to my friends.

Online Sucks

I feel the entire problem with party chat is the default settings. When somebody starts a party, it is automatically private. Most people don't even pay attention to that because they are already talking to their friends. Most people are not starting parties
for privacy reasons. Most people start them because its easier to connect with their friends. I bet if the party system was set up with the option for public or private in game chat when you create the party, you would hear many more people talking in games
and games besides Halo, Gears and COD would be able to establish communities instead of being dead in a month or two because you can't meet really meet somebody already in a party.

Could be a glitch. Have you tried power cycling the consoles?

If powercycle dosent work , I would try and delete my profile then re download it...

Fixed it

I had to create a new user on my windows, but now it works. I created new user using my xbox live email. then as I signed in the party had disappeared from my profile on the app, then went onto xbox and started party then it worked... So now
I have two user when I don't need to but least my xbox now works just have to wait for new update so I can go back onto my original user.

Pretty bad how Ive spent over 10 hours with the chat and they don't even have a clue.
