"Shadow Warriors" finally releases in the UK today and I can't wait.

Funniest thing I've heard all day.

What type of game is it?

 

I quite like the look of this, not enough to rush out and buy now, got too many games on the go at the moment with more being released starting next week ( Sunset Overdrive and possibly Lords of the Fallen ) right up untill Christmas and early 2015.

But will definitely pick this up when we hit a slow period, looks/sounds fun.

 

The game is currently tracking higher than "The Evil Within" with critics and gamers alike on "Metacritic".

 

Should I be ashamed if I've never heard of it?

 

^^ Never take no notice of reviews, especially Metacritic where it is known for fanboys to set up accounts just to praise or bash a game without even playing it.

Even with the genuine reviews, it's just one persons opinion, Ryse for example, most reviews were average at best but I absolutely loved it, there's been games in the past that mostly got 9s and 10s, I thought they were a pile of rubbish.

It does look good though, not a game I'm rushing out to get, too many others I want more but it could be the ideal game to pick up when there's a quiet spell next year and no doubt at an even lower price

Yes, you should be very ashamed considering the first one brought things to the FPS genre that we hadn't seen before........Shadow Warrior is a part of gaming history.

First Shmups and now this.......you get the dunce cap this week ;p Less time reading the ToS and CoC and more time brushing up on gaming history would be my recommendation.

I'm going to pick this up right after Sunset Overdrive and Halo MCC.

 

The game is a retro FPS that has been brought into a fairly polished present.

As mentioned above it started life as an influential FPS that brought some great new innovations to the FPS genre.

The game was "rebooted" in 2013 and released on PC and that's the version that's come to the XBox ONE and PS 4.

If you had a chance to play the brilliant "Painkiller" on the 360 you can expect something a little like that in the sense that it's a really polished old school FPS that will remind you what made the best ones so much fun.

You get guns... but the best thing you get and that you'll keep going back to is the Samurai Sword... which can be used to decapitate and generally liberate limbs from bodies leaving your enemies a bloody mess.

The game doesn't take itself too seriously and that makes for a pretty funny game. There's loads of enemies to kill, tons of areas to explore and tons of loot to discover. There are fortune cookies that will have you in stitches with their one liners.

Good fun so far.

 

There are fluffy bunnies in the game.

They hop about the picturesque Eastern Landescapes of bamboo and cherry blossom trees...

I found a couple of them having bunny sex and killed them with my sword...

Only to unleash a rabid bunny demon of infernal vengeance.

Great game.
