You can't handle the truth!

Really, because I loved the art-style of Halo with all of its bright colors! Granted, it has become a bit subdued over the past few games (a grey-lifeless, metal forge mode comes to mind), but a lot of it is still very much there. I would also argue that
it has changed a lot since the original Halo. Maybe it hasn't as much as some people would like, but then again, it's practically impossible to please everyone.

I think a lot of the things they're adding into Halo 5 that have been around in many other shooters for years now (aiming, sprinting, mantling, etc.) is also a breath of fresh air into the franchise. I can breathe a sigh of relief and knowingly say, "it's
about time..."

As far as the two trailers are concerned, I'm actually a bit worried. The duality of the trailers and even the box art itself suggests that there are going to be 2 parallel, yet opposing stories where either only 1 is the truth or both will have hints of
an actual "3rd" truth that is the actual truth. Why does there need to be a truth at all? I thought the Flood killed him anyways! Why can't it just be relatively straight forward - why can't they just tell the story straight? The way it's going, we're practically
going to be replaying the same missions over again twice from 2 different perspectives, potentially jumping back and forth like in Halo 2 between the MC and the Arbiter, and those of us who were there remember how salty that made many of us. Another MS staple,
Gears of War even tried a storyline that tried "to piece together the truth" in the form of GoW: Judgement, and we all know how that turned out.

Don't get me wrong, Locke seems like a pretty cool character, but as of now, unless the story is truly something extraordinary and does something new and/or unexpected, I kind of feel like the importance 343i seems to placing on him really cheapens the MC
a great deal. That, of course, may be the entire point. They may be positioning him to actually replace the MC as the staple hero in the series - a man's man instead of some failed, run-away science experiment. In other words, someone with a face. If this
is their plan, then I can virtually guarantee you that Halo is already dead on its feet, but doesn't know it yet. I certainly hope this isn't the case.

If anything, Halo has always been known for its multiplayer and I think that's where Halo online is going to shine. It's not going to be tied to any 1 story - it's just going to use the vibrant and wonderful Halo universe that has grown around the MC and
his (mis)adventures as the sandbox for us to use for our own nefarious and endless goals and desires.

Will the future of Halo still be as bright as Bungie made it out to be with its fantastic color pallet, or will it slowly fade into the darkness of space? Even more importantly has that long, dark journey already started? It's up to us to decide, and decide
we must. So make your choice! Make your TRUTH!

 

I like what you had to say GG. You made some great points. I preferred the first trailer, but to be honest it could be my love for the Master Chief.

I do not want to see a swap. Master Chief's story is just beginning. We are starting to learn more about him (John) as a man/character. I want to re - unite him with Cortana dang it! LOL

 

I don't think Locke is here to take John 117 place.It's just another new character,like 343 already did with Lasky,Locke got a different role (maybe a big one).

For me,the most important character in this new trilogy is Dr Halsey,but i will be happy to play as John 117.

And don't forget that 343 wants to bring/ develop more characters into Halo.Lasky,Palmer,Roland,Dr Halsey,Jul N'Dama,Locke,Thorne,....are some examples.

Previously,most important characters died : Johnson,Keyes (father/daughter).

Another thing,we shouldn't forget,is in this new trilogy,John 117 isn't the only Spartan.

Previously,there was Master Chief and a bunch of UNSC marines and ODST.

Now,Master Chief is somekind of old (forgotten) "relic"/Legend.....At least some see him like that.

And he is also a "broken child".

 

And you're trying to convice us (and maybe you), that Destiny has to be written in all posts and threads...Go find a Destiny thread and discuss with yourself.Thanks.

 

It seems that you can play as Master Chief and hunt Agent Locke and visa versa. Could be epic and fun.

Cortana got human DNA (Dr.Halsey) mixed with Forunner technology...Not sure if we can named her AI.

My buddy watched these videos, and was absolutely stunned. He said " I don't want to kill Spartans, I will now watch no more Halo teasers". He is taking them very negatively.

 

you wanna say that about halo i could say the same for uncharted or killzone or call of duty @electro

 

I actually just traded my WatchDogs for the Halo MCC from my brother and excited to get back into the Halo universe again just to experience all the single player greatness i loved and miss plus have yet to ever play Halo 4 yet. I don't know much about Halo
5's story but am excited to give that single player a go as well.
