    "You can't do this because of how your account is set up. Go to privacy and online settings.."


    I keep getting this message both when trying to play multiplayer games or join a club. I have made all of the privacy and online settings as loose as possible, yet this still appears. Have also run the windows app troubleshooter, restarted the app as well
    as my pc, but still nothing. Have seen a few other posts like this; any solution?

    Can't join in my friend's xbox club!

    I still get an error that says I have to change my privacy options but it's all not blocked and it continues to block my invite! How can I fix this?

    "You can't do this because of how your account is set up. Go to your privacy and online safety settings on Xbox.com to change this."

    How to change Xbox LIVE online safety and privacy settings

    You are allowed change the online safety and privacy settings for any profile on your console.


    How to change your safety and privacy settings

    Steps to follow:

    • First, you have to go to the My Account page
    • You need to sing in to your Xbox LIVE account clicking Sing In at the upper-right corner of the page.
    • Go to Settings and Preferences and select Privacy and Online Settings.
    • Now change the settings.

    How to change your child’s safety and privacy settings

    Steps to follow:

    • First, you have to go to the My Account page
    • You need to sing in to your Xbox LIVE account clicking Sing In at the upper-right corner of the page.
    • Proceed to Settings and Privacy and press Child.

      Note: You’ll be asked for the parental Microsoft account in order to make changes to the child account’s safety settings.
    • Now change the settings.

    The said error message appears on the game if it detected that you're not allowed to play multiplayer or online due to some restriction on your account privacy settings. Regarding your concern, can you tell us the app where you are getting this error message?

    Also, does the issue occurs on other games on your computer?

    In the meantime, I recommend that you check if your Microsoft account is set up as an adult account by accessing the Family settings page through this
    link.

    Sea of thieves Cant play it since i have to change my settings which are already changed

    I have the same problem. Bought and downloaded from the Windows10 store but, when I launch the game I get this error message: "Change your settings to play. You can't play multiplayer games because of how your account is setup. Go to your privacy & online
    safety settings on xbox.com to change this." I've looked at all privacy & online settings, can't seem to fix this issue.

    It didn’t work. I did the exact steps you gave me. It says “You cannot see content other people make because of how your account is set up. To do this, customize your Xbox privacy settings in Settings > Account > Privacy & online safety” even after I changed absolutely everything to “allow”
