    You cannot sign in with a different account through the Xbox app in Windows 11


    Had to solve this myself after an unsuccessful attempt to resolve this with Xbox support. Posting this to save someone else a headache.

    Unless they fix it soon, many people are about to learn that when you first launch Windows 11 you sign in with a Microsoft account. Once you have done so, you are locked in for the Xbox app as well. "Locked in" as in you cannot change your Xbox account simply by clicking on an option in the Xbox App (Windows 10 does not have this problem).

    How to solve this: Go to Start-->Settings->Accounts--> Your Info-->Microsoft Account-->Stop signing into all Microsoft Accounts Automatically. Then you can sign in with the different Xbox account, but only when you do the initial Windows sign in each time.

    You can! So long as you are connected to two different Microsoft/Xbox accounts or you are signed into a guest account on the second laptop through the Xbox One app on Windows 10... that should be possible.

    To switch Xbox account on Windows 11, try the following steps:

    Close the Xbox app.

    Go to Windows Settings.

    Click on Accounts.

    Select Email & accounts.

    Click on the Microsoft account associated with the Xbox app.

    Click on Manage.

    Click on Remove.

    Re-add the Microsoft account you want to use.

    Launch the Xbox app and sign in with the new account.

    If the above steps don't work, you can also try clearing the Xbox app's cache by following these steps:

    Close the Xbox app.

    Go to Windows Settings.

    Click on Apps.

    Find the Xbox app and click on it.

    Click on Advanced options.

    Click on Reset.

    Launch the Xbox app and sign in with the new account.

    These steps should help you switch Xbox accounts on Windows 11.

    Hey there Josue,

    Sorry to hear you are running into these problems. If you are seeing a different Gamertag than what you see on the Xbox One console then this means you are not signing in the correct email address. Go ahead and login on the Xbox One, Go through Settings
    > Account > Sign in, security and passkey. You should see your email in the middle column first box.

    Once you have confirmed the email address go ahead and sign into the account using that email address. This should put you in the right account.

    If you have any trouble signing into the account go through the support article linked below and follow the "Frequently asked questions about signing in to the Xbox app" first option is for signing in with a different gamertag.

    The Xbox App uses the MS store to do it's downloading. Make sure you are signed in on the Windows Store app the correct account as well as the Xbox app.

    If you're signed in on Windows or the Windows Store with a different account that you use for ultimate it could cause some issues.
