    I'm trying to play NHL 22 with my friend who has a Series X on my Xbox One and it says that I can only join it on Series X/S. Is this a bug or do I really have to buy a Series X to play with them?

    Seagate game drive won’t let me play games on my Xbox series s. It is brand new just got it today. How do I fix it so I can play games and not just use it for storage?

    Due to the complexities of the Series S and X and how they work, Series X/S games can only be played from either the internal drive or the official expansion card. Game drives can only play older games, from XBox One and back. You can store Series X/S games on the drive, just cannot run them from it

    and join party's and play the same game together, no matter who is playing on any of these consoles.

    Are you using a Series S/X?

    Series S/X optimized games can only run from the internal SSD or an expansion card made specifically for the Series S/X.

    Game can only be downloaded on a Series S and Series X, but not an Xbox One X. Xbox One X is not the same as a Series X.

    Both games use smart delivery, so can only download the Xbox Series X|S version of the game on the Xbox Series X|S. If you want to play the Xbox One versions, then playing on the Xbox One is your only option.
