    tried everything. But, every time I try to play star trek on xbox one , first it tries to get me to pay more ( already have a game pass ), then I get a msg saying "you are not permitted to do this; check your user profile". Rest the the console. Reinstalled
    the game. Nothing seems to work.

    Hey there,

    Do you know if you have a Child, Teen or Adult account? It's possible this particular game is restricting your content. Other things you can try are checking for both system and game updates and also logging into https://enforcement.xbox.com/home
    and seeing if you have any strikes against you which could be impacting upon this.

    As ThirdDegreePun stated, this could be an Enforcement action, however it's also possible to see this message if there is a billing issue on the account. Take a look at this guide

    Make sure you have gold membership otherwise you can't play online games.
