    YET ANOTHER BAN COMPLAINT


    I know everyone probably does the same when they see another "I've been banned" thread, and let out a hefty sigh and "here we go again". I just find it frustrating and amusing that people complain about their ban, but within their complaint, they've stated
    EXACTLY why they've been banned!!

    What can xbox do to make people MORE aware that they will receive a ban for unlawful behaviour, going against code of contuct, rules etc.

    I reckon upon start up of the console, during the load up xbox logo, plaster a big disclaimer across it stating "this will not be tolerated" "that will not be tolerated" etc. Or periodically have a "I agree to the terms and conditions whilst playing online".

    I know it's a touchy subject, different cultures, countries, beliefs etc can cause confusion, something offensive to one, may not be seen as offensive to another, but yeah, big disclaimer upon load up everytime to constantly remind people that language,
    unsportsman behaviour, abusive messages etc, will not be tolerated and will result in partial or permanent suspension.

    Thoughts?? Any additions??

    I'm agreeing with other people here and just don't understand why people put themselves in a position to get in trouble. Why use profanity, or send people insulting messages, etc? I've never gotten a single enforcement but I've never used bad language,
    sent anyone insults, or anything like that at all. If I've gotten rude messages, which I have, I just ignore it to be honest. I don't spend time reading it, or taking it personal. If, at first glance, it seems like a rude sort of comment, I don't even finish
    reading it. I just delete it and it's forgotten about. If the person sends another, and persists with it, I simply block them. They'll never get a response out of me; I don't respond to negativity or drama. I'm on Xbox for fun, and to enjoy gaming. That's
    it. :)

    Honestly to this day I can't understand why people get banned. I have been on Xbox Live for 11+ years and to this day not a single enforcement action. If some one gets salty and they reach out to you then just Block and Report. Same thing if you get upset,
    just block and report, don't give anyone the option to report you. Just Rise above the toxic behavior and take the high road. Trust me it has worked for me.

    I somehow understands some of them.

    I remember a mother´s complaint (or a father, it din´t detailed) about him getting banned because he told his son via xbox live mssger to check his brother son. The Ms (or Sr) use a hard word for telling to do such, and it gets a Ban.

    So, in resume: It was her/his son. And, it was referring to the child cellphone, it´s a pretty unfortunate ban. I have to admit, that I´m now afraid to use the xbox mssges or the voice chat.

    maybe having a brief multiple choice test on the CoC/ToU on the renewal page so people have to show they know the rules before going online would do the trick

    only 2 or 3 questions needed with questions such as "will you be banned or suspended if you only retaliate?"

    It's a societal thing, people these days are too conditioned to just accept the terms & conditions without ever reading them, in full disclosure I'm guilty of doing the exact same thing, however the difference is I was always brought up to be understand
    that there's a time & a place to vent. Now I'm from a place where we are known to be very.....industrial with our tone of conversation sometimes, an hour in the company of a group of Glaswegians would make a sailor blush, however I'm also from a place where
    I was taught from a young age the responsibility of representing myself properly in company. In the end too many people seem to forget that Xbox Live is basically a community, communities have rules to be adhered to, if I walked into the office & started
    talking the same way I do in the pub with friends a P45 would surely follow in quick order - you just don't do that!

    Sadly these days not many people have that mindset, it's a common sense thing & as I keep hearing of late, common sense isn't as common as it should be. Nothing we do can change that as even if we mandated having a video ahead of every play session I guarantee
    you it would not be watched, it's like those videos before a flight where they show you the evacuation procedure, 90% of the flight pays no attention to it yet it'll save your life! All we can do is hope that lessons are learned from the indiscretions of
    those who encounter the enforcement team & if they aren't well, that's where the more severe consequences come into play.

    The one I do find funny though is when they revert to "oh well, I'm just going to PlayStation then!" as if their code of conduct & procedures aren't similarly set out & policed....
