    It doesn't matter how a situation starts. If you respond in a way that violate the code of conduct, you can be suspended. In the future, it's best to just report and block instead of responding.

    Reporting then is all you can do. That alerts the enforcement team to investigate them and they are the ones who would do something about it. Depending on the game, there may be an in-game report feature as well that can report them to the developers also and get them banned from the game.
