I just talked to customer support, they had me go to settings-power &startup and set the power mode to energy saving then turn off the Xbox one, wait a minute, turn it back on. Change the setting back to instant on and try 'Xbox turn off' again, this time
it recognized both yes and no...

You may want to try that...

same here it really irritates me that i have to do the soft reset all the time. xbox on worked for me once.... thats all...

I am going to be avoiding these update previews if I can in future, anyway to unsub that you guys know of? I did try the trick of putting my One into 'energy saving' mode, resetting and turning it back - worked for the 'yes/no' problem.

This had been fixed, but the latest update has broken it again. I've tried rebooting and recalibrating the kinect, but neither worked.

This is getting pretty ridiculous with this. Every time I get a freaking update, I have to go through my power setting to get the "Xbox Off" feature to work. Starting to think I should have waited for the kinks to get worked out before shelling out $500
bucks to be a test dummy for Microsoft.

Same issue here. Xbox turn off works, yes/no don't post-update.

I just did what NENO617 said e worked for me. Plus I unplugged/plugged the A/C cord !

Try holding the power button for 10 seconds my mate told me it helped him.

glad this thread exists and I am not the only one. I do the 'soft reboot' and it works until the 2nd or 3rd time I turn it off with voice commands... then stops working when asked for 'yes/no'.

I am really feeling like a sucker for buying the XB1. PS4 is more powerful and cheaper. I also realize that having the XB1 hook up to my cable box does nothing except cause frustration at times when it decides it doesn't like the signal its getting from
my comcast box. (then I'm stuck playing the guessing game on which component I have to power off/on - the xb1, cable box, or receiver).

I used 'snap' for about 30 seconds until I realized I can still barely see the TV feed on my 70 inch screen... yet I am stuck with 2 audio feeds overlapping each other.
