So I'll try to make this as short as I can...

I've had an Xbox account 13 years. I've never had a disciplinary action in all that time...

Until yesterday?

Obviously I've been around long enough to know all the things one are allowed and not allowed to do. I'll say 13 years again.

Anyways, yesterday after playing a game on my Xbox One X offline (what game doesn't really matter), I went to start my PCs browser. My browser opens up about 6 tabs of websites because it's just easier for me IMO. One of those websites it opens is of course
the Xbox website, which logs me in automatically... until yesterday...

I'm met with a message that says Account temporarily suspended (locked) due to some kind of code of conduct violation. It tells me to type in my phone number and I'll get a verification code to unlock it.

I use to roll my eyes every time I would see a post that had someone complaining about some suspension they got for "no reason".

Ok... First let me check my email. Surely Microsoft has sent me one to tell me my account has been suspended for an hour while I punch in my phone number.

Nope. No email.

Ok... Let me check the enforcement website.

Hmmm... Says I have a perfect record.

Ok... Well let me punch in my phone number and get that code. Done. Account unlocked! I get some message saying if I think my account was hacked to check my recent activity. Well... I don't think my account was hacked. As said above, I just finished playing
a game on my Xbox. Do I think I did anything to get my account locked? Obviously no. Did a screenshot on my activity feed from 5 years ago offend someone? Who knows? That's my point I guess. Since I got no email or no explanation what so ever... How am I suppose
to actually STOP this from happening again? I'll wait for someone to try to make me feel better now. lol This has just been more annoying than anything. How do I know that one day I will not lose 13 years and not even know why? I apologize for the long
post and I'm not really good with words so maybe it makes some sense. Thanks for reading... if you did.

I get some message saying if I think my account was hacked to check my recent activity. Well... I don't think my account was hacked.

you should still go to https://account.microsoft.com/security/ and check the Sign-in Activity.

if there is any activity you don't recognise go to https://support.xbox.com/help/account-profile/manage-account/compromised-account-solution and
follow the instructions there

This was a Microsoft (MS) account suspension when they see a possibility of suspicious activity they will lock the account and have you verify your account was not compromised.

This has nothing to do with an Xbox profile suspension which is where you would look at the enforcement teams website to see what the suspension was about.

I find it weird that they would say my account was locked because of a violation of the code of conduct if this is the case. I still feel like they could have at least emailed me and said something like "We think we have suspicious whatever... blah blah
blah."
