Xvd drives and win10 May 2020 can not update

today 14/6/2020 im updated to win10 2004 last build still can't sign in to xbox

I had this issue before, cleared it by getting rid of the disconnected and not used XVD drives that gamepass creates for each game.

XVD drive? Where are these 'drives' showing?

I have 5 installed PC XGP games and none of these XVD drives

should have bought through steam, i have full access to all the files. gamepass and most windows xbox store games are in xvd format, means an xbox virtual drive file that gets mounted when you play.

you can see these xvd as hardware under device manager, they are sometimes hidden.

it is because most of the gamepass games are not normal files but in XVD (xbox virtual disk) format and these are loaded as virtual drives when you start a game, you can see these under device manage storage drive display hidden.

these need be kept in a secure directory with other system files so when you select a drive to become the storage drive for games it creates 3 folders one of which is system access only.

yes it is a bit backwards but that is how they have implemented this.

So, this formatting was intended only to run off of the drive with your system files? Meaning anyone who's OS isn't installed onto a drive large enough to house both, system files and game files are outrightly screwed? My knowledge on disk formatting is null,
so I can not contest whether or not this formatting is absolute, however it seems to me that there could at least be some manageable way to load the XVD files from any hard drive? What exactly lies within the system files that grants the XVD permission, or
function to run that can not be achieved on any other harddrive?

Wouldn't solve your issue but for anyone who sees this post would like to add that this might be happening due to the XVD virtual drives that are created for games with Xbox sign-in maybe, at least that seemed to be the case.

This update also came in April when I first had these issues with Quick Heal installed. Also not sure if the Anti-Virus can ignore a virtual drive.
