XsX wont turn on

My experience so far with my Xbox Series X (see ending for Tl;dr):

I preordered my Xbox Series X the moment preorders were available. I was able to snag my console from Microsoft's website and I received it earlier this week (on the 11th). It lived for no longer than sixty
minutes of runtime. F.

My XsX is now unable to boot. When I press the 'On' button, the white Xbox Light turns on and I hear the Xbox noise as the button is depressed. The light and sound last no longer than a second and immediately
turn off, followed by a soft grinding noise that comes from within the console. I have tried every troubleshoot possible.

Eventually, after accepting that the console was a dud, I contacted Microsoft's customer support. This was a nightmare. Keep in mind to reach a live body at Microsoft's customer support, one must wait approximately
90 minutes for a callback.

So after waiting for the first 90 minutes, I spoke to a representative who advised that he could transfer me to a different department for some troubleshooting. I was transferred to a different service department
where no one answered. Since no one answered, Microsoft's nice automated message said 'Sorry, goodbye.' and disconnected. Queue another 90 minute wait.

Boom. Second attempt. A gentleman answers the phone and apologizes when I explain my issue. He advised he would get 'me back to gaming' ASAP and would expedite the process the best he could since I received
a dud. Sounded promising! Oof, nope. Phone disconnects. No call back. Queue another 90 minute wait.

Third attempt. I, again, explain my issues with my XsX. We troubleshoot, and troubleshoot, and troubleshoot (not too much to troubleshoot). She finally acknowledges that my XsX is not working. She advises that
I can send my Xbox back to Microsoft to have them repair it before they send it back. I express my concerns that this particular unit lasted no more than sixty minutes. I further stress that I am worried of things such as warranties (that expire after a year)
when I already know that this is a faulty unit. She continues to advise that it will be refurbished and sent back to me and that I could not get a new unit. Fast forward.

Now she advises that I can do regular shipping (at no cost!) or expedited shipping which would mean I would only have to wait 6 to 11 business days! This option I would need to pay for. To get my broken Xbox
back quicker, the Xbox that was sent broken.... I would need to pay more money to receive it faster. After some 'discussion' she put me on hold to seek approval from a supervisor. Permission was eventually granted. I could at least get expedited shipping to
have my broken Xbox repaired....

After another 10 minutes of being on hold, uh oh. Another error. She attempted to load $9.99 onto my Xbox account to purchase the expedited shipping but received an error and was unable to do so. I'm again
repeated the options of FREE regular shipping or expedited shipping that I would need to provide my card information for.

I have been an Xbox customer for close to two decades and this was a horrible experience. No compensation was ever offered. My option is to keep a broken unit that has a bandaid slapped on it (where I can pay
money to get it back faster) or return it altogether. Big ooof.

Tl;dr. Xbox doesn't turn on. I have to return it to have it fixed and will receive the same unit. No compensation offered. I can pay additional money for faster shipping.
