    XSX: Turning on/off TV using Console not working


    On my old Xbox One S I could setup the console so that turning it on/off will also turn on/off my Samsung TV. This setting can be done in General > TV & Display Options > Device Control

    Finally I got an Series X. I would like to use the same setting, but it doesn't work.

    I noticed the menus look different on the Xbox One S and Series X. You can see my setting below. It looks right for me. What could be the reason for it not working? Is this a bug? May the Series X actually use different Technology which might not be supported by my TV?

    I believe the case it might be an issue with the technology or even a bug as well.

    I'll recommend you do a power cycle to clear the system cache

    - Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.

    - Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 2 minutes.

    - Plug the console power cable back in. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on and check if it's all good.

    If that doesn't help, then I'll suggest you provide a feedback to the insiders development team. You can so that here feedback.xbox.com

    Same issue since day one release. I have yet to get this to work with my Series X. I just shipped my Series X back today for GPU failure.

    This feature still works fine with my Xbox One X Scorpio Edition.

    Also on your Samsung TV, did your input change from the green Xbox to the blue generic "Game Console"? Mine did as if the TV does not recognize the device as an Xbox console. I can switch it out with my Xbox One X and the input icon changes back to the green Xbox.

    My xbox keep turning the tv back on, and keep changing the hdmi input back to it.

    It does, it's just not a big fan of xboxes. One x hdmi controls never worked at all. The xsx over does everything. While all other consoles works perfectly with it.
