Discus and support XsX - Seagate SSD Expansion disconnecting Wireless controller in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I have an Xbox Series X and have just bought the Seagate 1TB SSD expansion.     XsX - Seagate SSD Expansion disconnecting Wireless controller


    I have an Xbox Series X and have just bought the Seagate 1TB SSD expansion.

    When i insert the SSD expansion, my Wireless controller is disconnected and cannot be reconnected until the SSD expansion is removed.

    Trying to re-pair the controller fails. both the XsX and controller flash until both time out and stop flashing.

    Going to Settings<Accessories says no controller is connected.

    Connecting the controller with the USB-C cable from the Rechargeable Battery Kit (bought at the same time) also doen't work and the console doens't seem to recognize anything is connected.

    Restarting the XsX doesn't solve the issue either.

    I have tried removing the SSD, reinserting it but the issue isn't resolved.

    I've formatted the SDD in the XsX but again not resolved.

    viewing the Storage in the settings menu shows the additional drive with all the expected available space.

    Only when i remove the SSD expansion and restart the XsX does the controller connect as normal (without re-pairing).

    Any ideas on how to fix and is anyone else experiencing this?

    External Hard Drive. Which one?

    Geez cell phones. I meant Seagate is top notch. WD great too. SSD is great, but you have to "build" your own housing. The Seagate Barracuda is outstanding for SSD. But if you are not wanting to build you own housing, then you should go to the Seagate
    expansion external hard drive. Major Nelson is currently using the Seagate Expansion and says it works great

    Do you have usb drives and the Seagate expansion ssd? That is apparently causing an issue with a one time boot loop. I tested on 2 units with 2 Seagate ssd proprietary drives and 2 western digital 5 tb blacks. Issue is consistent and recreatable with
    that combo.

    Why can't you play series x games on ext ssd?

    So the external seagate ssd for xbox is usb3.0 with 500mbps read and write speed right? I have two of them and i see alot of people saying "its because the external ssds are too slow to play games on,you can only play series x or enhanced one x games on internal or the seagate expansion ssd card" but alot of external ssds are fast enough? No?

    SSDs are not the same

    USB 3.0 drives are only for Xbox One games

    You must use th3 internal drive or a Seagate expansion card in Series consoles
