Xobx One X HDR Issues

Hey,

OK so I got a whole new setup for 4K. It includes the Vizio P55-F1 (4K and Dolby vision) and A Sony STR-DH790 (4K 60hz and Dolby vision compatible). When I hook up my Apple TV 4K to the receiver and then the TV I get a 4K signal with Dolby vision enabled.

However, with my new Xbox One X, when I use the cable provided (or the ones that work with my Apple TV) it says that my tv can’t handle 4K 60hz, it can’t do HDR (when I do that check tv thing). If I plug it directly into my TV it seems to work fine
though.

Not it sure what is going on (firmware is up to date on all components). I want to use the receiver for ease of changing inputs and don’t want to use the tv speakers and not my sound system (can I use the arc channel to bring audio to the receiver
into a spare input?).

Any suggestions?

HDMI Handshake issues when HDR is enabled?

Has anyone had any issues with HDMI handshaking (no-input on the tv) when enabling HDR on Xbox One X.

4K Blu-ray playback issues on One S and One X

You need to enable hdr

And on xbox one s make sure you turn on hdr only for video

And tuen it off when playing non x enchance x games as it does causd issues

Like no sound on gameplay

Ita fine on xbox one x but bot onns

Keep in mind your cable grade must be hdmi 1.4 and gold plated not silver

Thanks for your post, I believe the Xbox One X needs certain information from the television for it to process that 4k is supported, with a receiver in the middle of this path that information could possibly not be getting to the console. I do recommend
contacting Sony for information about possible adjustments that can be made to hopefully broadcast the correct signals to the console. For more information on the Xbox One X and 4k check out this article:

Hi,

Regardless of whether you own a One S or a One X, if a game supports HDR it will do so on both consoles.

So if you owned a One X and the game was Enhanced with HDR, you'd get this 'enhancement' plus HDR. On the One S you'll just get HDR.

Overwatch is not an HDR title, neither on One X or One S.

If you were playing a none HDR game with HDR on then you must have overridden the setting on your TV/monitor. The colours will change, but it won't look right.

HDR is not a feature exclusive to One X.

Erm........................You do realise that any game that runs on the Xbox One X also runs on the Xbox One S? And because of this, any game that is HDR on the Xbox One X is also HDR on the Xbox One S.

So basically, any game you find that is HDR on the Xbox One X is also HDR on the Xbox One S

HDR is an "Xbox One X Enhanced" feature for those games, that's official words.

For example Rise of the Tomb Raider, NO HDR on Xbox One S.

Hi,

Not all TV's support HDR on all HDMI connections.

On my Sony Bravia 4K TV, only two out of the four support HDR even though they all support 4K resolution.

This could very well be the issue,

I have a Samsung 4K HDR TV, with 4 HDMI 2.0 ports, but only one of my port's supports HDR, ( HDMI 1 ),

If i want to use to my PS4pro with HDR, i have it in HDMI 1, but then if i want to use my Xbox One X with HDR, i have to swap my HDMI cable's around, so that my Xbox One X is now in HDMI 1,

Best check the TV's manual to find out which HDMI port uses HDR,

Or try connect the Xbox One X into the HDMI port where you're PS4pro is, and see if HDR then works.
