Xo one stereo headset w/stereo adapter

I'm currently using a set of "xo one" stereo headphones with the stopped headset adapter. Since the update today (July 31) I've been getting a lot more consistently bad audio through the cans; both in games and when streaming. I've tried updating the controller
in hopes that would help after the update but it turned out to be unnecessary, as there was no update available. I'm kind of clueless as top what else I can do. Incidentally, when I plug my controller in via the usb port on the Xbox in hopes that maybe it
was a data transfer issue via the controllers blue tooth connection to the console, the distortion actually got worse. Please help! Thanks!

    :)

  3. Can I use a Xbox one sterio headset with a DVI converter?

    Hi Legend of RDG

    If I understand your question...

Q: If you buy the Stereo Adapter, will this allow you to hear sound.

A: Yes, the stereo adapter will allow you to plug in headphones to hear sound. I omitted the headset that comes with the adapter just in case you already have headphones.

(The Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter lets you plug a compatible chat or stereo headset into the Xbox One Controller to control your audio experience without taking your hands off the controller.)

The adapter will work with many existing headphones, but you can opt to buy the Xbox Headphones (w/Mic) and adapter too

If you're having problems with the stereo adapter that came with the Xo One headphones, you could try the microsoft/xbox 1st party one and that one can receive firmware updates when in the controller, the same way you update your controller. I don't believe
the headset adapter that comes with that headset is compatible for firmware updates through your controller, through the xbox one via USB. To be sure if it doesn't or does, go to Settings > Devices and see if, when you select your controller, at the right,
check and see if there is an option to update it or even to see if it's there at all.

Since your Xo One headset does have a TRRS 4-poled 3.5mm plug, it should work perfectly in the microsoft/xbox branded "stereo headset adapter."

It can be updated I believe, at least, that option is available in the location you specified. Though, if you're trying to say you can update the connected decide specifically, and not just the controller add a woke (it wasn't quite clear to me) then it
can't receive updates. Could you be a little more specific about how I can tell please?

I probably should have mentioned (but i hadn't thought top check) that the issue i'm having happens even when I remove the stereo adapter and plug the headset directly into my controller. The audio flickers and gets static and sounds broken.

If you go to your devices page and look at your controller, select it, and the accessories on the right does not show your adapter, you can not do firmware updates for it.

For crackling: Try new batteries, using another USB power source (cell phone charger) if the controller is 3rd party and is powered by USB, see if your headset can get firmware updates through their website via USB.

And also, try updating your controller and cleaning the 3.5mm plug with steel wool or a paper towel, if it's corroded.

And finally, you might have to reach out to that headset's manufacturer's customer support about that crackling issue.
