Xfinity wifi dc from every game

The xfinity wifi kicks me off from playing a game, sometimes its even bad that it disconnects from the home screen. The wifi would just dc for 5 seconds and come back on again. I dont get it. A technician from Xfinity came over and replaced the cord in the wall but it didnt work and i got dc instantly the day after. Then i tried port forward the ports. I did the ports all from xbox live into the router and it still happens, I dont get it anymore. The only logic solution i have is to connect ethernet bit i cant do that bc the cable cords upstairs where im playing at dont work at all so it really sucks. Did any fix this issue with their xfinity wifi dc them every 10 minites or so??

Thanks for reaching out to the Xbox forums! I am sorry to hear that you struggle with playing online and your console disconnecting. It could be happening because your Xfinity Wifi router is too far away from the console. I have my main router in my living room in my home, and then I purchased Wifi extenders that allow the single to reach my other devices in my house. I would contact Xfinity and ask if they offer these Wifi extenders or if they could put install on that allows you to hardwire where the Xbox is located. Have you tried the console wireless upstairs where the router is? If you haven't, try it and if my recommended solution is correct, contact your internet provider. Hello, Xfinity Wifi hotspots are also part of your contract, if you dont pay your account you will not be able either to use the Xfinity hotspots. Probably in your phone you are using the data conection instead Wifi.

Connecting to Xfinity WiFi requires that you go to the browser and log in using your xfinity credentials, kinda like when you use a hotel's wifi or airport's.

Even though it's not resolving the DHCP, go to Edge and see if it connects to the landing page.

Once you sign in you should be good to go.

Hi Dericka, thank you for the help. I tried resetting my Xfinity router and get the same black screen with sounds from the XBox. I do have Xfinity WiFi router with an Xfinity pod to extend coverage and the laptop connects to the pod when I'm upstairs in our bedroom. I suspect it isn't working because it's connected to the pod, but there is no way to control if it connects to the pod or main gateway unless I unplug the pod and that creates other problems for things connected to WiFi. Any other ideas?
