XCOM 2 will not launch on my console

I pre-ordered XCOM 2 over a month ago now, and I have been waiting patiently to play this game. While it did install the game prematurely a few weeks ago, I am now currently stuck with the label for my game as "pre-ordered" as of 9:55 am EDT, and I have
already uninstalled and reinstalled the game. Also, when I go the the Digital Deluxe Edition page in the Xbox Store, it says that I have to buy the game all over again, when I have already purchased the content and am waiting to play the game. No error codes,
just a box that says, "You're too early. Please wait for the release day to play your game. Go to the store page to find the release date." I just want to play XCOM 2.

Say It Isn't So! XCOM 2 Is Delayed!

XCOM 2 Delayed on PS4 and Xbox One

XCOM 2 is going to release on consoles a little later than originally planned. The strategy game's original release date
for PS4 and Xbox One was pegged for September 6, but it's now been
delayed by three weeks.

Take-Two president Karl Slatoff made the announcement as part of the
company's quarterly earnings call. He said that the three-week delay was made in order to "ensure the game is fully polished at launch and meets the team's high standards." He added that 2K and Firaxis Games will continue to support the PC version
with free and paid DLC after XCOM 2's console launch.

XCOM 2's new PS4 and Xbox One release date is September 27 in North America. It releases internationally on September 30. The console versions offer a
number of improvements and new features that weren't present when the game launched on PC. Mod support for consoles has not been announced.

 

Free w/gold xcom not working

When I try to launch xcom it says the game has not been released . I have Uninstalled and reinstalled and power cycled console

 

And looking in the Xbox One Store online says that I do not own the Digital Deluxe Edition. That is the version that I pre-ordered.

 

I'm having the exact same problem, I was actually able to play it about 20 days ago, at the time I thought maybe they moved the release day ahead. but now I can't play it and it's stuck telling me that I'm too early.

 

It's launch +16 hours. Why are we still waiting for this game to come off pre-order status?

 

I wish I knew, I even got a message from Xbox Live a few days ago, stating that availability was moved to 9/27/16. Yet here we are, waiting for our pre-order status to go away.

 

Same situation...and typical, still no response or solution.

 

Re-installing the game fixes the problem. Un-install then re-install it, & you'll be fine.

 

It started for me as well, but it's still reinstalling now. I wonder if that's the reason it started though, since I tried uninstalling and reinstalling earlier this morning. Glad it's working now regardless, though.

 

It is working now after having been flagged as pre-ordered all day. Complete uninstall/reinstall does the trick.
