XCOM 2 Next week! Anyone picking it up?

Are you getting the basic version of XCOM 2 or the deluxe version which includes the reinforcement pack?

From what I hear on the 2K forums the Reinforcement Pack contains some additional missions, character classes and weapons. Not sure its worth the $15 they are charging for it.

Not yet. (Lousy work!)

From what I've heard it runs really well on consoles.

I'll post back when I get to put some time into it in a few more hours.

XCOM 2 on consoles plays great! I invited a friend over yesterday who has the game on PC to check it out.

According to him, other than some minor lag on some loading screens, the game plays exactly like the PC version.

Blind Squirrel Entertainment did a wonderful job of porting this game to consoles.

If you liked XCOM EU on the 360, you will absolutely love this game. I consider myself a good XCOM player and this game definitely keeps you on your toes and requires planning a few moves in advance.

I can't wait to get back to playing again.

FYI - Weapon attachments (Scopes, etc.) are done in the Edit soldier section. Not in the load out section (grenades, health packs) like is was in the last game.

I lost a few good people by not having them equipped properly.

I've seen nothing but great scores for this game. Wish I was into this type of game.

 

Did you give the 360 game a go when it was GWG brand? They are fantastic games, really tense and can be absolutely gutting when you lose your favourite soldier.

I was really hoping my copy was going to turn up today but alas it didn't Hopefully I'll be saving the world from aliens tomorrow!

 

Im the same as Brand, I don't know why but half of me wants to be interested and the other half is meh... I think I might pick this up when its cheaper to see what the fuss is all about.

 

Going to start this tonight or tomorrow. Got a few things I want to do on Forza before moving to another game.

It's getting a lot of praise though wherever I look. It has a few issues on XB1, a few are reporting that after a few hours of play it can be prone to dashboarding especially when in the menus but devs are working on a fix.

Good idea. Once you start this game, you won't be able to put it down. Firaxis has that "Just One More Turn" formula down to a science. I even find myself getting up early to get in a few turns before work.

No dash boarding issues for me. Almost 20 hours in since Tuesday. Maybe it has something to do with multiple save files. I play Ironman mode so there is only the 1 file that is constantly overwritten.
