    xCloud: Review


    A few days ago I got my invite to the beta and immediately got the app running great on my Android phone. But that wasn't enough for me. I installed the app on many devices including, my Toshiba Fire TV, Virtual Machine, and on a few emulators.

    My biggest surprise was that it worked very well on my Fire TV. Navigation within the app was difficult and did not work with my Xbox Controller. But when I got into a game using another method, the service ran surprisingly well! I live in the middle of no where and the only internet I have access to is 4G LTE Hot Spot (Unlimited Legacy Plan) which runs on average 50-100Mbps Down, 30-40Mbps Up and 30-50ms Ping.

    The input delay on my phone and on my Fire TV was not noticeable on any of the button presses, but I had the smallest input delay on moving the thumb sticks. The game selection is amazing so far and I have really enjoyed gaming on the go! I would like to see this app officially supported on many more devices in the future, like the Firestick. I would even be willing to purchase an exclusive xCloud Ready Firestick if it were ever to become available.

    I do believe this service could replace my console in the near future, with 5G right around the corner and keeping in mind this is just the beta.... I am very surprised how well this service works in the poor hardware and internet I have.

    Compared to the Stadia release, you guys are 110% ahead of other similar services.

    If i purchased a game that is on xcloud can play it on xcloud after my subcription endd?

    What is xCloud? I don't know what it does.

    What is Project xCloud?
    Project xCloud is the codename given to Microsoft's forthcoming cloud gaming platform that is planned to be a complementary service to its Xbox
    One     and forthcoming Project Scarlett games consoles.

    It is a streaming service, in that all games will be hosted on remote servers and live gameplay video will be sent to a compatible device over the internet. In return, controller codes are sent in the other direction so, for all intents and purposes, it
    feels like you are playing a game loaded on the device itself, whether it be a smart TV, PC, tablet or smartphone.

    So now we will get a "Series X". With a "Series S" yet to be announced, how likely will there be a "Series C" (from Cloud) for streaming purposes only?

    If the idea of XCloud is"play on any device" why create a device to play with XCloud?
