XBSX Audio drops every 2 seconds

I have a new issues that cropped up today.

Every 2 seconds the audio briefly drops. This occurs during games, in apps such as youtube, and in the Dolby app as well.

My Series X connects to the TV which then connects to a receiver via 8k ultra HDMIs. I have swapped these cables around with no change, so it's not the cables. The TV itself also has no issue sending the correct signal to the receiver for its apps.

By default the XBSX sends an Atmos signal. My first thought was that it had to do with this but as I said, youtube videos that are stereo have this issue as well.

My headset which connects via xbox connect does not experience this.

My XBSX is set for 4k 120hz. My TV is a Sony 900H.

I have tried hard rebooting it to no avail.

Any ideas? I can't speak to XB support on the phone right now so I figured I'd post this for the time being.

According to the explanation you have provided, please make sure to follow the following steps in order to fix your issue.

In case the issue still persists, the next step would be to perform a reset on the console. To do so you will need to follow the steps below to perform a reset on the Xbox :

Settings > System > Console Info > Reset This Xbox > Reset and Keep my Games and Apps.

Note =>The "Reset and Keep my Games and Apps" option will not cause losing your games, but please be aware that you need to be completely aware of the email address as well as the password of your account before going for it because it will require you to sign in to the account.

The last option would be for you to try and request a replacement for your device from the microsoft website online.

Welp I've discovered the issue.

It's being caused by setting my xb to 120fps.

If I drop it down to 60fps the issue doesn't occur.

My TV is set up for 4k 120hz and hdmi 2.1. both my cables, one of which came with the xb, are 8k ultra 2.1 hdmi.

I'm not sure if this is the xbox or the tv as I have nothing else to test at 120hz.

Any ideas?

Edit: If I turn 120fps back on but disable atmos or dtx bitstream the problem also stops. Setting bitstream to anything else or turning it off stops the issue.

I am having an issue when in Instant On Mode Cox Cable DVR-->Xbox One-->TV. When I wake it up it the video goes to static/"snow" and audio drops for one second every six seconds exactly.

Every ten seconds or so it cuts out to black and comes back on after 2-3 seconds ive figured out the sound goes out as well im just hearing it via the s-cable audio to my astros.
